When should I play this game?
So I've played through Re;birth 1 and some of Re;birth 2, but then I took a break. My question is do I need to finish 2 and play 3 before I play this one, or is it fine to just play this one once I beat 2.

Haven't played too far in, finished re:birth 1 and re:birth 2, pretty early in Re:birth 3. However, from my understanding, no, doesn't seem like you need any story from the other games to play. At most rebirth:2 if only to get some background on the cpu candidates and how the cpus interact with them.

Non-canon so it's fine to play. It's kind of a hybrid of the Re;birth 1 world with some of the Re;birth 2/3 tropes, but it's just another parralel dimension like the anime (though the anime can be spoiler for 3/V though). So it's a good change of pace between mainline games.

Alright I'll probably go ahead and play this one and then maybe follow it up by completing 2. And I have seen some of the anime, but I didn't go too far into it since I knew around episode 6 they introduced Plutia and I didn't want to see that until I beat 3.
