So check first which game you are actually playing and missing your savefile. Be aware that you get two versions with Blind Forest, the normal one and the DE version. Maybe you just opened the wrong version and you are fine by just starting the right game version? Check this first before continuing with anything below.
Definite Edition (usually played):
Standard:
Check if any of the files names saveFile0.sav or saveFile0_bkup0.sav are there. The number is the number corresponding to your slot. File 0 is the first slot in the game. If those files are there, make a backup first to ensure not to loose them due to Steam cloud. if there are no such files, you are out of luck, but if so, continue after backing them up.
Then start a new game on an empty slot. Skip the introduction and save the game. Go back to the menu of the game. Now tab out of the game and replace the files now in the above folder with your backed up files (make sure they have the right number by renaming them, so if you used the first slot in the game, the nubmer of the files are 0, second slot -> 1 and so on). Then multitask back into the game and close the game. Now Steam should sync the save state to the server. After this, reopen the game and your old saves should be there and working properly.
