Am keen to buy this and the follow up game. But need to know if anyone is getting it working on Linux

Seems so. If you search the discussions you find people playng it on Proton 4/5 and directly with Linux Mint without issues (same for the sequel Will of the Wisp).
I finished this game on Linux. Runs out of the box.

Yes I have run it on Manjaro, NixOS and also on the Steam Deck, works really well on all of them.

Edit:

Adding that you have to enable Compatibility mode, either in:
* Settings > Compatibility > Enable Steam Play for all other titles
* The game properties > Compatibility > Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool.

I play it with Proton Experimental.

I'm sure this is explained better in other threads as said above, but it doesn't hurt to just add it here, in case someone stumbles upon it. I just searched for "linux" and "proton" in the General Discussions and it wasn't immediately clear which thread to follow, and most of them are older.
