Unhinged achievement Bug
Man, I finished the whole game in the hardest, won the "Imortal" achievement, but I didn't appear on the leaderboards and I didn't get my Unhinged achievement. I finished the last part like 3 times and nothing. I've already tried to verify the cache and it says everything is ok. Please, help.

I'm having the same problem. I'm not sure if there are hidden prerequisites or something, like if I'm required to explore the whole map, or have to 100% it or something.

I'll try it later (the teleport thing will save my life because some instant kill parts are scary)

The achievement requirements specifically state that you need to beat the game on "One Life Difficulty." This is mutually exclusive with playing on Hard. I got "Supersonic," "Elite," "Formidable," and "Immortal" all at once and it still wasn't counted for exactly this reason. You MUST play on "One Life Difficulty." So, sorry to disappoint you, but you're gonna have to start all over if you want "Unhinged."

"Unhinged" is also arguably considerably more difficult than "Immortal" because the split second you die, the game starts you all the way over at the beginning, so immediately quitting is no longer an option. It's also worth noting that you are not allowed to copy "One Life Difficulty" save files. Now, you MAY be able to clone the AppData save files if you're worried about dying, especially near the end, but I haven't tried that yet. Should be located here:

[Drive Letter]:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Local\Ori and the Blind Forest DE

On the bright side, it seems to just be Normal without the ability to respawn, and if you die, you even leave behind a single "Ability Point" pickup for yourself on your next run.

When I said I finished the game on the hardest difficulty, I said I had beaten the game on the ''One Life difficulty''. My first run was on hard difficulty, my second was on the easy one just to get the ''supersonic'' faster and my third run was on ''One life difficulty'' and now 100% completed still withought achievement. I don't want to start all over again just because the game doesn't recognize my achievement (I've even taken a sreenshot from the ending and posted on my steam). It's frustrating. I still need the Elite achievement and I don't want 2 more runs. I love this game, but another run without dying to those annoying instant kill parts are sometimes stressful

Oh, and the Ability point isn't a good thing, specially when you die because of thoses laser beams :steamfacepalm:

Yeah.. I'm in the same boat. Although personally, I'm pretty confident that I can do it again, I just don't want to finish the game on One Life from the beginning just to not get the achievement.

Well, I just got "Unhinged" without a hitch, so I'm not sure what the problem might be on your end. And backing up the save file from that AppData folder works, too. I can't see your profile so I'm gonna take a wild guess here and ask if you played all the way through to the credits. You don't get the achievement until the very last action you're in control of, it doesn't get awarded just after the escape sequence is concluded.

Hey, I changed my profile so everyone be able to see it. Yeah, I waited all the credits, but I know that I just need to get to the part when you crontrol Ori for the last time before he is attacked by Kuro .

Hello.

Just a word to confirm that the achievement "Unhinged" must be done in one go, without quit the save at all.
If you finish it leaving and reloading your save --> it will not work.
So, if you try to make copies of the One Life saves just in case --> it will not work.

After around 10 attempts, I finally get it yesterday : I'm happy. ^o^

Wait, so you have to play through the entire game without stopping at all? That's stupid. The achievement specifically says to finish the game on One Life Difficulty. Why don't I get my achievement for doing what it says to do?
LinkSamus3 Dec 21, 2017 @ 4:41pm
No. You do not need to do it all in one sitting. You DO have to do it all without dying and starting over on the same file. That's when the glitch happens. You have to delete the file and make a new one every time you die. And you can't copy One Life files anyway.

Do you mean to say that you are not allowed to quit the game? What's the point of save file then? I plan on getting that achievement playing the game carefully and slowly so I won't be able to finish it in one sitting without dying cuz I don't play for more than 2-3 hours without rest.

I agree, the achievement's description is not complete. Not very cool for players who don't know that.

I'm sorry, but it's true.

I finished a first time the "One Life Difficulty" while quitting and going back in the save, and it didn't unlock the achievement. That was the reason why I looked for the reason, and I arrived on this topic.

Unfortunately, this is what I say.
But as Preacher says, a run doesn't last a long time : 1 to 2 hours max, no more. You can do it. :dealwithit:

I did the exact same thing, and it unlocked for me, no problem. That's not a rule for the achievement, it's just you. Either you had alreay died on your file and kept going instead of making a new one, or you just lost your connection right before that.
