Why I didn't want to go to Black Root haha
"Unhinged" is also arguably considerably more difficult than "Immortal" because the split second you die, the game starts you all the way over at the beginning, so immediately quitting is no longer an option. It's also worth noting that you are not allowed to copy "One Life Difficulty" save files. Now, you MAY be able to clone the AppData save files if you're worried about dying, especially near the end, but I haven't tried that yet. Should be located here:
[Drive Letter]:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Local\Ori and the Blind Forest DE
On the bright side, it seems to just be Normal without the ability to respawn, and if you die, you even leave behind a single "Ability Point" pickup for yourself on your next run.
Oh, and the Ability point isn't a good thing, specially when you die because of thoses laser beams
Just a word to confirm that the achievement "Unhinged" must be done in one go, without quit the save at all.
If you finish it leaving and reloading your save --> it will not work.
So, if you try to make copies of the One Life saves just in case --> it will not work.
After around 10 attempts, I finally get it yesterday : I'm happy. ^o^

Wait, so you have to play through the entire game without stopping at all? That's stupid. The achievement specifically says to finish the game on One Life Difficulty. Why don't I get my achievement for doing what it says to do?
Do you mean to say that you are not allowed to quit the game? What's the point of save file then? I plan on getting that achievement playing the game carefully and slowly so I won't be able to finish it in one sitting without dying cuz I don't play for more than 2-3 hours without rest.
I agree, the achievement's description is not complete. Not very cool for players who don't know that.
I'm sorry, but it's true.
I finished a first time the "One Life Difficulty" while quitting and going back in the save, and it didn't unlock the achievement. That was the reason why I looked for the reason, and I arrived on this topic.
Unfortunately, this is what I say.
But as Preacher says, a run doesn't last a long time : 1 to 2 hours max, no more. You can do it.
