Light burst & bash howto?

At one point in the new area the game tells me that I can reach new heights with light burst (LB) and bash (Y), but I don't know how to utilize this. Ori throws the light ball so fast, I can't possibly jump after it and reach it high enough in the air for bashing?

You can hold the light burst button and aim it with mouse or the thumbstick, then you can throw the ball directly up and use it as it falls down :)

That is exactly what I have tried.. The margin must be incredibly tight.

I'm not even close.. Maybe it should be done only with the ball, but it doesn't reach the lamp. Ori has to stay on the platform to keep the door open, and there is no boulder nearby to roll on the platform to keep it pressed.

Its not. The longer the line stretching out from Ori is, the harder he'll throw it, whereas shorter one will mean a slower one. With small tosses that barely reach anywhere, bashing off your grenades is really easy.

I don't see how small tosses help, if I need to reach very high. Anyone have a video link showing how it's done?

My point was you don't have to throw it at max speed always, you can alter it. Hell you can even bash when its coming back down.

Just try it, you'll see.

Yeah, but it doesn't help at this point, I've tried everything. I guess I have rely on walkthrough video.
