When should I go to Black Root Burrows and Lost Grove?

So I think I'm very close to finishing the main story (just unlocked Mount Horu entrance), and I'm wondering if I should go finish Black Root Burrow and Lost Grove first.

I heard these areas provide more info about Naru's past, so I guess it might help me appreciate the ending more, but apparently there are also some additional abilities there that weren't in the original game, and I'm afraid they'd make the final sections of the game too easy, I like the challenge.

Black Root Burrows and Lost Grove are optional areas and there are a bit of story pieces over there. Black Root Burrows unlocks Dash which may help especially in final boss encounter (scripted scenario). The ability unlocked at Lost Grove only helps to get 100% map and bonus discovery, I don't even use it usually.

I treat these 2 areas as post-game content. They are more challenging and it looks targeted for players who finished the game at least once. And as they were added in DE, kinda a DLC, so they are not made in a way to add something to the ending itself if you ask me.

Personally, I do Black Root Burrows as soon as I get to the Thornfelt Swamp spirit well, and Lost Grove as soon as I get Stomp.
