About the two ancestral trees in Naru's old home
Just noticed that in the memory pieces shown during exploration of Black Root Burrows, two spirits (white ones similar to Ori) were childhood friends of Naru, playing balls and (possibly?) dashing. There are two ancestral trees as well, with exactly these two abilities. So the trees we collect abilities from are deceased friends of Naru? If yes, that's pretty sad...

As far as I remember, Sein says exactly this when you visit Eki (Dash) and Sol (Light Burst) Ancestral Trees. So you are right.

Also Black Root Burrows is a DE content not present in original game and I feel it as addition made by other people, trying to mimic original game content.

Aha I saw the dialogue, thanks!
By the way, why Black Root Burrow gives you the feeling of mimicking by other people? Are there some inconsistency or things feeling off which I didn't notice?

Some aspects of this addition look fitting, while others - very much not.

I consider idea of having Naru caring for the Nibel's Spirit Tree since he was a sapling terribly flawed one. This way Naru is very ancient being, hundreds of years old, and spent hundreds of years side by side with Spirit Tree. So she should know very well what spirits are.

We see Naru sad and lonely when she sees Ori's leaf flying past her. Also she looks surprised about the glowing white leaf and that it turned into a cute creature. She kinda not aware about what spirits are in general. And we see her adopting Ori eagerly. But! She should know perfectly about spirits at this point. And why she is alone? Why had no other spirit adopted?

Why she tries to protect Ori from Spirit Tree light if she knows that this light isn't harmful to spirits? Why she not sees any relation between Spirit Tree not shining anymore and this blight that engulfed the forest?

I think you can explain most of this, but it is all not very easy to explain.

Like. You can imagine spirits not leaving Spirit Tree surroundings to be cared for by Naru at the Nibel's outskirts. But then we see Eki and Sol doing this. You can imagine that Naru knows about spirits but not believes in her fortune to get one as an adopted child. You can imagine that Naru doesn't protect Ori from Spirit Tree light but simply doesn't want him/her to go. And you can imagine that she knows nothing what happens to the forest without functioning Spirit Tree or doesn't care because she cannot do anything.

Also, Black Root Burrows is filled with traps. Who made them and for what purpose? Traps in Sunken Glades, Thornfelt Swamp and Gumo's Hideout possibly made by Gumo. But these look different. You still can say that they are also made by Gumo.

Actually, you can question any point I made, so sorry for this rant :steamhappy: :steammocking:

No that's not rant... it's reasonable and reminds me of the confusion when I saw "the Spirit Tree was just a sprout". It really makes the timeline feel strange, either Naru being an extremely long-living creature or the old and giant Spirit Tree isn't that old. For the trap part I don't know, maybe it's just for the gameplay.
I may need to do some searching and see if anyone else mentioned the problem of Naru caring Spirit Tree. Thanks for the long reply!
