Stuck in the Ginso Tree
Ive completed it once and went back because it said 99% complete but now I am stuck. Ive stupidly made save check in the tree as well. Is there a way for me to exit the tree or do I have to redo the whole thing. (I've only completed 40% of the map. 5hrs into the game)

You can exit it via Spirit Light Well by teleporting away.

I'm in the tree and likewise stuck.. Don't have DASH, but achieved BASH. How do I get back to the Spirit Well. Can't go up without Dash, and hitting a place going down where I'm unable to jump up to a "wind tunnel". None of my saves are outside of the Tree. :-(. Don't want to start all over... :-(

Dash is completely optional for the whole game. You can pass all the Ginso Tree without Dash from bottom to top. It is really hard to understand your problem. Can you make a screenshot where you cannot go up or down towards Spirit Light Well?

I'll try to grab a screenshot but not sure how to share here (I'm playing on XBox), but I'm at the level with the 4 lanterns which is shortly before the Spirit Well (I believe). I have two of the four keystones and the remaining two keystones are out of reach, unless I'm doing Bash incorrectly. I can easily jump lantern to lantern on the lower portion and get to a ledge on the left that leads out to another ledge on the right. There's a lantern there but I can't seem to jump high enough to catch the lanterns on top (from either side) to then get the last two keystones.. Here's a description from one of the walkthroughs. I have the Air Dash but never found Dash before entering the Tree.. When I try to execute a "Double Jump" I see Ori go a little higher but not see the "V" on the screen. No matter how many tries at the "A" button, I'm just not getting enough height. :-(

"In the next section use the lanterns to dash jump to all of the four Keystones. Open the door at the top and go through the portal to the right. You’ll have a mini boss fight with a strange creature. Use the Bash attack to direct his projectiles back towards him. A few times and he should be killed. Go through the door to the right to find a Spirit Well and save your game."

Thanks.

Jays_PA, so for starters you are not re-visiting the Ginso Tree but trying to complete it for the first time. So you do not need to teleport away when you'll reach the Spirit Light Well here. And you got stuck at collecting 4 keys to open the door leading to a mini-boss. I know this place, it only requires Bash and Double Jump.

I made a short video. Hope it will help. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Mq2zeBpheYUwXhNZzsSYCyIBqgMtanVZ/view?usp=sharing

Many thanks for this effort and you're absolutely correct as to where I am in the game. I've got the two lower ones.. My "double jump" seems to constantly just short of the two upper ones. :-( Again I'm on an XBOX X/S. Tried with stock controller, elite V1 and V2. :-( I know, sounds crazy and I made my way all the way up to this point without much issue.. REALLY annoying.. It's why I though originally I needed DASH as I was able to get AIR DASH. Guess I'm going to practice my double jump.. :-)

There is a thing with Double Jump that it erases your momentum, your velocity. So you should be careful to not be spamming jumps, cuz you can have even shorter fly-path with Double Jump than without it.

You need to press jump in the air once and in the right time. It is not that you are "cocking" a Double Jump, when you press Jump in the air, to happen at the right time - Double Jump will happen immediately and can make you fly further or shorter depending on how right was the timing.

Good luck!

Thanks for being so helpful. Maybe some typos or I'm not catching it right. I thought double jump was two depressions on the A button? Yes, I've seen the momentum greatly decreased at times.. It may be the combination of BASH and JUMP that's getting my timing off.

Thanks again..
Jay S.

P.S.. Then I've still got the whole escape sequence to go through!! :-) At least if I get to the Well, I can warp in an out! :-)

Yes, I can write rather obscure cause English is not my mother's tongue.

I mean that you can press jump while on the ground or making wall-jump, but while in the air you have only one more jump, Double Jump (we skip triple jump now), and to perform it you need to press jump button only once, but when you already in the air, and Ori will do it immediately.

Finally got past it BUT an interesting twist. I switched back to the stock controller (thought I had but didn't) from both of the Elite controllers.. Got past it on the first try. Wondering now if there's some setting on the A button for the Elite controllers I need to look at..

Thanks for all the help..

Nevermind! Have a nice game. Good luck with finishing the Ginso Tree! Quite a few people feel frustration with this "finishing it" part. It worth getting past it, believe me :ori:

Thanks again.. At least now I'm at the point where I can warp out and try another area if I'm totally frustrated by the escape! :-)
