I'm in the tree and likewise stuck.. Don't have DASH, but achieved BASH. How do I get back to the Spirit Well. Can't go up without Dash, and hitting a place going down where I'm unable to jump up to a "wind tunnel". None of my saves are outside of the Tree. :-(. Don't want to start all over... :-(
I'll try to grab a screenshot but not sure how to share here (I'm playing on XBox), but I'm at the level with the 4 lanterns which is shortly before the Spirit Well (I believe). I have two of the four keystones and the remaining two keystones are out of reach, unless I'm doing Bash incorrectly. I can easily jump lantern to lantern on the lower portion and get to a ledge on the left that leads out to another ledge on the right. There's a lantern there but I can't seem to jump high enough to catch the lanterns on top (from either side) to then get the last two keystones.. Here's a description from one of the walkthroughs. I have the Air Dash but never found Dash before entering the Tree.. When I try to execute a "Double Jump" I see Ori go a little higher but not see the "V" on the screen. No matter how many tries at the "A" button, I'm just not getting enough height. :-(
"In the next section use the lanterns to dash jump to all of the four Keystones. Open the door at the top and go through the portal to the right. You’ll have a mini boss fight with a strange creature. Use the Bash attack to direct his projectiles back towards him. A few times and he should be killed. Go through the door to the right to find a Spirit Well and save your game."
Thanks.
I made a short video. Hope it will help. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Mq2zeBpheYUwXhNZzsSYCyIBqgMtanVZ/view?usp=sharing
Many thanks for this effort and you're absolutely correct as to where I am in the game. I've got the two lower ones.. My "double jump" seems to constantly just short of the two upper ones. :-( Again I'm on an XBOX X/S. Tried with stock controller, elite V1 and V2. :-( I know, sounds crazy and I made my way all the way up to this point without much issue.. REALLY annoying.. It's why I though originally I needed DASH as I was able to get AIR DASH. Guess I'm going to practice my double jump.. :-)
You need to press jump in the air once and in the right time. It is not that you are "cocking" a Double Jump, when you press Jump in the air, to happen at the right time - Double Jump will happen immediately and can make you fly further or shorter depending on how right was the timing.
Good luck!
Thanks for being so helpful. Maybe some typos or I'm not catching it right. I thought double jump was two depressions on the A button? Yes, I've seen the momentum greatly decreased at times.. It may be the combination of BASH and JUMP that's getting my timing off.
Thanks again..
Jay S.
P.S.. Then I've still got the whole escape sequence to go through!! :-) At least if I get to the Well, I can warp in an out! :-)
I mean that you can press jump while on the ground or making wall-jump, but while in the air you have only one more jump, Double Jump (we skip triple jump now), and to perform it you need to press jump button only once, but when you already in the air, and Ori will do it immediately.
Finally got past it BUT an interesting twist. I switched back to the stock controller (thought I had but didn't) from both of the Elite controllers.. Got past it on the first try. Wondering now if there's some setting on the A button for the Elite controllers I need to look at..
Thanks for all the help..
Jay
Thanks again.. At least now I'm at the point where I can warp out and try another area if I'm totally frustrated by the escape! :-)
