And if you get too frustrated. Take a break. I did that with the water escape. And,when i came back i needed only 3 tries to succeed.
Don't blame the game man, controls are fine, it's just that you suck at it. You'll get better, like we all did, nothing to be ashamed of
Ginso tree take me around hours to beat due to low FPS issue with my old laptop. If you want good bash aim use mouse and keyboard. Controller for some fancy trick.
I don't know why people complain about bash. Bash is easy to use, doesn't require skill and reliable, if you can't use bash too bad because some sections in late game will require bash skill.
I suggest you should watch speed runners run Ori in AGDQ 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 if you want to see how the pros use bash.
Curious to see OP playing to see why he's so bad at it.
I did pass that part, but only after I switched it to "easy".
What I have had to do is constantly switch back and fourth from keyboard/mouse to controller. Any parts where it requires precision "bash" I have to use the mouse because the controller is simply too sensitive to be used effectively.
I worked my way thought a few other levels, but the game has honestly worn me out. The gamer in me wants to finish, but I am struggling. The other night, after some wind level, I found a map shard and when the map became revealed, I hung my head and shut it off.
Many others have said the same, but I find that in 2018 the instant death from unknown traps to be quite frustrating. I remember dropping down pits in Mega Man, or that stupid Technodrome level in TMNT for the NES where you would drop down and die because the floor was spikes.
Back then I didn't have any frame of reference. That was how games were. Today, having dealt with so much better level design, I find that this type of trial and error gaming to be monotonous. Part of it is that I don't have the time to sit there playing the same thing over and over.
For those who said I'm just not that good. Perhaps. But, for me it isn't really about my skills or lack there of, it is more about fighting the game. I find myself fighting the controls. I know what I am supposed to do, but the controls are so fickle that many times I'm just pulling off the move out of luck.
I find that I am constantly getting caught on things that don't really seem to be there (this is partly because of the multi-layered elements. Sometimes you think it is a background plant, when it is really a deadly spike.
I don't mind punishing games, but this isn't so much punishing, as it feels unfair.
Uh, my brother was there when I did it as a witness. /shrug
I just played how I usually play. Looked what was coming up ahead of me and timied the ability accordingly. The water was pretty forgiving, ALTHOUGH I did panic for a little bit and almost ate it. But yeah, I was actually bummed out on beating it quick cause it was a really fun part IMO. And I didn't know you can go back to a previous save to play it again.
Nothing was hard for me, I did Mount Horu final on 2nd attemp :P
