Going by logic, since when you load the save it puts you back to before the final escape, I don't think it ever lights up... could be wrong though

The last World Event does light up, but only if you check your progress after escaping Mt. Horu and before the reunion and sacrifice scene. My guess for it not showing post-epilogue would be that the Definitive Edition might have some gameplay artifacts from the original game, in which there was no post-epilogue freeroam. You completed the task and got the achievement, it just doesn't display after the game.
