The thing is, you really don't have to though; the platforming in general is pretty forgiving most of the times, though there are a few parts where you need a certain amount of precision especially later on. The others have already given pretty good advice, so I'll just have to be that guy and say "get gud", as in play more and get more accustomed to the controls. Once you have built your muscle memory enough everything becomes easier. Also if you're really having a lot of problems with the controls try mouse+keyboard and don't hesitate to switch to that if you feel it might be better for you.
The "frenetic platform game" statement is purely a matter of opinion, while the "trial and error" one is just plain wrong. This is not one of those rage games that deliberately hides platforms and traps just to piss you off, here everything is laid out clearly in front of you (90% of the time, lol) and can be overcome with observation and thinking. If you're playing this game slamming your head against problems until you somehow make it through, you're most likely playing it wrong, in the sense that you're making it harder on yourself; this is not necessarily directed at you, just pointing it out.
But dude, Guindo Tree made me mad!! XD
I finished learning exactly where to jump and impulse. It was a long level too, without checkpoints, so the try and fail was too obvious. Just in the "pursuit" moments, ofc.
Despite that, I liked that part the most of the game. The moment you accomplish a hard moment you feel so well.
Remember play smart not play hard. The game is not too hard you just make it harder by raging.
I know it's nobody's fault in the end, and that difficulty is subjective, but THERE IS the "difficult" tag here on the game's store page; plus you'd also think people would read some reviews, the 2 top reviews right now literally say "Very hard even on normal difficulty" and "prepare to die a lot"
i'm playing in Normal difficulty and I'm using a keyboard. Maybe I should connect a gamepad for this one and it could be easier, I don't know. Let's see...
