Recommended for noobs or no?
My interest with this game goes beyond the apparently stunning visuals--so far, I quite like the gameplay depicted in videos. However, I am a complete newbie to gaming in general...am I advised to play?

A bit challenging it is, but it has some technical characteristics that make it ideal compared to add other Metroidvania genre, simplicity of controls and speed of character from the beginning are two strengths. If you add up that owns one of the most beautiful soundtracks produced, a great storyline and spectacular graphics. Then soon there will be the summer sales. I recommend it, if you want to start from something similar but easier then buy this too and then goes to Ori.

It's not too hard to play, especially if you play on Easy difficulty. The infinite lives thing, along with being able to save almost anywhere helps a lot. But the game is not exactly made for casual players either. Early on, there are some jumps that you will need to go right to the edge of a platform to make, and you start out pretty weak against enemies until you start to collect a good amount of Life and Energy Cells. Basically, the first part of the game, up until you meet the Spirit Tree, is pretty easy, but expect the difficulty to ramp up a bit after that every time you reach a new area. The only place in the game where the difficulty actually goes down is the Forlorn Ruins. The worst part, other than the last area, is probably the first escape sequence from the Ginso Tree. Because of the limited skills at that point, the escape is very Bash-heavy, which requires you to get used to doing that really in a hurry after you get it, and that's a rather clunky skill to learn IMO. Really, playing the game or not is entirely your choice. I would recommend it to anyone who is not turned off by the style of presentation. If you do play it, I will give you one more piece of advice. After you learn the Stomp skill, go all around all the accessible areas collecting everything you can at that point before going into the Misty Woods. Once you're in there, you can't get out without finishing the area, and it will whip you if you're not prepared.

Short answer: there are some difficulty spikes (sometimes literally, spikes everywhere :CunningPepe:) but nothing that you can't overcome if you don't give up.

In my own opinion, this game will actually help any noob become a better platform gamer by the time they're through with it. The game gives you time to explore the controls and get into the gameplay. Moreover, the difficulty will increase gradually, with new areas increasing the amount of skill you need to progress. However, you will be ready by then, if you let the game teach you.

Hardest learning curve of the game? The bash ability. But trust me, once you get the hang of it, it's exhilarating to use.

This game, in my opinion, is absolutely wonderful. Give it a shot. You won't regret it.

As somebody who is also a complete noob at platforming, I think the save at any point you want mechanic the game has actually helps a lot at making the harder parts bearable, and I think it's enough to make the game playable for noobs (especially easy mode which has checkpoints in 3 hard parts you would normally not be able to save).

The wall-jump mechanic, for me, is about as easy as Flappy Bird, which I've never gone higher than three on. I know I suck at games, but this is driving me nuts. That being said, it's gorgeous, and when you're not feeling completely overwhelmed, it's one heck of a lot of fun!

No.

If you are completely new to gaming, even on easy mode this game will be very difficult.

Start off first by playing this game

Totally, this game is not that hard. On easy difficulty you'll not die a lot, you can save almost whenever you want. Plus the platforms part aren't that hard once you have the mechanics, neither are the puzzles. If you are really new to gaming and plateformers, play it on easy difficulty.
