Singleplayer?
Is there any singleplayer content in this game or is it strictly a Party game?

There is no singleplayer mode.

But with the online multiplayer you'll be able to play with friends. At launch the online multiplayer might be a bit buggy, but soon enough it'll be fully functional.
did they scrap the single player ,ode? I know its not available in the current build but didnt they originally plan for there to be a cool single player mode where you tried to clear the level with as few placed objects as possible, so that you can use them to climb higher at the end goal?

We prototyped the singleplayer you've described a bunch and it just wasn't very fun and lost a lot of what made the original concept fun. We decided that it would be better to scrap it and refocus on adding online multiplayer instead. The latter is proving to be quite the endeavour so we certainly can't have had both.

Basically, we decided to improve the best part of the game rather than tack on something mediocre.

Thanks for the responses. I was just a bit suprised that UCH didn't have a game mode where you could play against CPUs. In hindsight I guess it would be hard to implement, you can't really program AI to be a ♥♥♥♥ when you play against it.

I'm disappointed with the lack of SP. I Kickstarted this game because you promised:

"Single Player Puzzle Adventure Mode
Playing alone? That’s okay, we’ll be your friend. Try our story puzzle mode, where you can explore new worlds and find new friends. The levels become increasingly difficult as you're presented with more challenging platforming tasks and you need to find ways to use dangerous blocks to your advantage. You'll have to reach the finish with only the platforms we provide for you, specially tailored to make each level solvable in many ways, some easier than others."

I don't ever play multiplayer games and was excited that this would have a SP mode.
I feel like I was misled. I don't recall any KS update telling us you were pulling a promised mode.

Oh well, the game looked fun. Hopefully someone will put out a SP game like it in the future.

Disappointed as well that there is no single-player. You might want to take that off the Store page, then. But it does seem like you gave it a fair shot and found it just wasn't going to make for good gameplay, so it's understandable. Though I'm not real big on multiplayer games, so will probably wait for a sale and then pick it up.

Hey folks, we did in fact talk about how we were going to replace the single player with the online mode on our blog:
http://www.cleverendeavourgames.com/blog/2015/09/10/majorgamenews

and a little in this Kickstarter post:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/292879712/ultimate-chicken-horse/posts/1348502

Looking back on it we certainly should have said more about that, so I apologize for that.

It's annoying that the SP isn't happening, but we felt (and so did fans / players) that it wasn't the true UCH experience. We thought that if someone wanted to play alone they'd play online. We still plan on making that the core of the "alone" experience, hopefully introducing matchmaking later if we have the community to support it.

Sorry again, hope you guys will still enjoy!

Sorry we had that "Single-Player" showing in the store page, we should have turned that off a long time ago. It should be off now.

I don't know what rules are there on Steam and how people react to necroing old discussions, but I'd like to give a suggestion anyways.

I know it's not the same thing, but a way to have a "single player" is to either build your own maps in the free mode, save them and run them yourself, or go through maps loaded into the game's Online from other players that have made random maps.

I hope this shines some light!
