Number of players?

I'm sorry if this is written somewhere and I missed it, but I'm curious about how many can play this in the local co-op? I couldn't find this info wherever i looked.
I'm thinking of buying this game to play with some friends next week, but we're a group of 6. Does this game support this many players? If not, will it support it in the future? If not, we'll just have to team up and share the controllers.

So far I believe it can support up to 4 players.

4 is the max. We have discussed more than 4, we know people are interested, but it isn't going to be in the near future.

I agree... regularly have 6 or 8 man LAN parties and I think this would be a blast
