even if you buy 9 porcupines and fuse them to get 3 fused porcs...
Then you have payed approx. 8000 Dollars and still get shreddered within seconds by veterans who know how to play
Paying is actually a detriment to new players, cause with better gear you will be matched with more experienced players.
When you have players, that cannot analyze anything and instead react with frustration towards any failure on their part or a plain happenstance, they will come back against the game on reviews calling the game P2W with no explanation or practical examples. In reality, you may buy your way into a PS bracket of your choosing, and more experience players will wipe the floor with you, because you don't know what you're doing.
It is the same as with MOBA or class-based FPS games - every class comes with its strong and weak sides, and inform a set of behaviors that ideally put you in advantageous position against a set of enemy classes. The difference is that in XO you're building up your class yourself. You have to balance offense with defense, pick an optimal range of engagement, choose an appropriate movement profile and optimize the placement of components to reflect the type of combat you're going for, and every such choice comes with drawbacks.
Some people just don't have the capacity to think that deep. They judge the outcomes based solely on what particular weapons or components someone's using. On top of that, every part whether it comes from crafting or pack exclusive is traded on the market, meaning that you can obtain anything without paying. There's no exclusive advantage obtained from paying into the game, therefore the claim of P2W is practically false.
Additionally using cheap parts is perfectly viable at most p.s. and it's still possible to compete with skillful play even if your oponnents have higher rarity parts.
Claiming the game is pay to win is just venting in most cases which is rarely substantiated by the slightest hint of evidence.
