Chromehounds Reincarnated?
So Chromehounds - the best mech game of all time - was my go-to game for insanely creative vehicle warfare back on the Xbox 360 before the servers were finally shut down (a sad, sad day for all fans of Chromehounds, as the online was where the game was at).

So I want to know, AND ONLY FROM THOSE WHO'VE EXCESSIVELY PLAYED CHROMEHOUNDS (600 hours or more (I had about 1,500 hours)), is this game basically Cromehounds with trucks? Or is this game watered down like so many 'build your own' vehicle warfare games?

I ask CH vets, because they'd know what I'm talking about. Primarily, I want to know how similar the mechanics are. Do I have to manage weight, power generation, fuel, cooling, weapon placement/firing sequence, ammo supply, ammo type, chassis turn radius, rate of turret rotation, armor distribution, etc.? Or is this game watered down?

Bluntly put, is customization akin to MMORPG or Mass Effect 2? I'm hoping for absurdly complex customization, yet with an intuitive GUI like CH. Does this game fall into that realm, or should I wait for the newly announced 2nd Chromehounds game (I nearly creamed myself when I found out CH2 is in the works)?

1) it is MAV not MAG. 2) MAV is NOT a sequel to ChromeHounds. It isn't affiliated with ChromeHounds in any way. It is a stand alone project inspired by ChromeHounds. I wish Steam wound port the original ChromeHounds and that the original company would actually develop a proper sequel.

Dude, you might want to look up the word "reincarnation," and apply that to the context. Reincarnation doesn't mean "sequel." :steamfacepalm:

I do agree the original company needs to either make a sequel, or sell the rights so someone else can. If anyone suggests Armored Core, please, dive under water, and inhale deeply.

Nope. That's like saying Tamagotchi and Pokemon are similar. Chromehounds and MWO are both mech games, but that's where the similarities end. MWO feels incredibly watered down and aimed at the casual gamer compared to CH.

MWO feels watered down compared to mechwarrior in general and even more so if you play battletech
GODS I miss Chrome hounds my team absolutely curb stomped in 3 wars consecutively, topped the leader boards a few times too, there was me (alienbilybob back then), Dragonbox, Blacktoenail and deadmetal we used to be online constantly on that game recently tried to get M.A.V but the website is down and it's no longer on steam :( big sad.
one day I hope a descendant of that game comes round and reignites that passion again. used to love my Scout mech "The Guilotine" wheel base 3x high powered Sniper rifles used to 1 hit kill with a conector shot below the cockpit from the top of a mountain or call in an artillery bombardment from Blacktoenail and wipe a grid sector of the map. sooo much fun and soo in depth

It looks like the developer is just fine being a tiny niche game, from what I'm seeing. Which probably means it will never be "finished."

Hell, the lead dev isn't even flagged as a mod on their official reddit thread. Looks like he's just fine and happy being small-time in his discord.

Dev pulled it from steam because of... reasons. Best guess seems to be they disliked the 33%% Steam cut and felt that support/visibility Steam provided wasn't worth it.
