Linking Steam and Gaijin.net accounts
1. Linking your Steam and Gaijin accounts (if you have a Steam account)
Binding your account to the email address is required to:
  1. Contact technical support;
  2. Access to your personal dashboard, where you can change your in-game nickname, enter the bonus codes and more;
  3. Get access to the Crossout forum.
To do this, those who have no Gaijin account, need to link their e-mail to Steam:
Make sure that Steam overlay is enabled for the game.
Open game settings and click ‘Link e-mail to Steam’
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2619163671
Enter your e-mail in the box
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2619163860
Open the message that should be on your inbox. In it you will find the username and password for your Gaijin account.

2. Linking your Steam and Gaijin accounts (if you have a Gaijin account)
Linking account to Steam is used for a progress synchronization of Gaijin and Steam game accounts. Note, that it is available only if you did not ever log into the game via Steam login.
In order to link accounts, run the game through Steam and enter the username and password for your Gaijin account in the window on the left side of the screen.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2619163072
Click "Login". You will be prompted to link your accounts together.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2619163173
If you click the "Sign in with Steam ID" button, then in the future you will not be able to link your accounts, though you will be able to bind your Steam game account to an email address of choice.

If you have any problems, contact the support[support.gaijin.net].

(UPDATED) Gaijin Account transfer to Steam
If you played Crossout without Steam before and you want to keep your progress, you need to login with your Gaijin e-mail and password, and you can sync the progress ONLY on this first launch.

If you have some troubles with linking, please DO NOT use Steam login button and instead contact Gaijin support - https://support.gaijin.net/hc/en-us/categories/200612042-CROSSOUT

Steam login option is intended for new players and it creates new Crossout account with 0 progress. If you created such account by mistake, DO NOT play with this new account. Please contact support team and continue playing with your Gaijin account through regular launcher, this way your progress won't be lost.

Please keep in mind that due to Steam launch feedback from support team might be delayed.

Contact the support: https://support.gaijin.net/hc/en-us (login in top right corner, then submit a new request)

If you completely lost the access to your account, you don't have to login on the website and can use this link instead: https://support.gaijin.net/hc/en-us/requests/new

You can keep using the launcher, there is nothing that forces you to use Steam. If you want to pay ingame using Steam however, you have to use the Steam version of the game.

Before you do that, take a look at this topic, otherwise you may get problems linking your Steam account: http://steamcommunity.com/app/386180/discussions/0/1471966894865324163/

But again: you are not forced to use the Steam version. If you are happy with the normal launcher version, you can just keep using it.

Of course you can, you need Steam version only if you want to make purchases with Steam Wallet (and achievements).

Game page also says "Steam Trading Cards"? Which of course would require purchases through Steam for them to drop because it's f2p.

Sorry of course for such a stupid question, but if I accidentally went into Crossout via Steam and clicked the button to bind Steam, and wanted to bind my account, I can do something to get my account unbound from Steam and tied mine.

I have the exact same problem, i did create a Gaijin account years ago for War Thunder, before Crossout became avaivable here, i played and leveled up till around Enginner reputation 9 or so. So i have to contact support? And what do i have to tell them?

So are you getting "already linked" as well? If so, then contact support and tell them what Gaijin account you're trying to use.
