Cant change my name?

I logged in via Steam ID. And it made my name something my steam ID has never been. I also cant apparently find any way to change my name in game. Changing my Steam ID has no effect... anyone know how to get my name changed in the game?

Go google the support page for this game. This is not official forums put in a ticket, they should change your name once you put in a ticket with tech support and they get back to you, at least seen one person told to do this who said they fixed it

You need to link your Steam and Gaijin accs in one of two ways mentioned here:

then you'll be able to change in-game nick on Gaijin site in personal area.

My Steam account is already linked with Gaijin, and the nickname in the personal area does not match my Steam name, Nor does it match my ingame name in Crossout. All three things are showing 3 different names. I even changed my nickname in the personal area on Gaijin site and it had no effect whatsoever.

Well Gaijins support must be run by a bunch of xtra chormosome wielding chimps.

I cant link my Steam account, because upon first time loading the game, it linked my Gaijin account to a different steam account, even though I used my email address. Gaijin support staffs only solution is apparently to send messages to whoevers steam account they incorrectly auto linked me too, and ask me to reply that way.

How the hell im suppossed to reply to messages sent to SOMEONE elses account, I have no idea.

Secondly, apparently a certain misunderstanding took place here.
In order to switch your nickname you need to follow these steps:
Open game settings and click ‘Link e-mail to Steam’

Enter the correct e-mail in the box

Open the message that should be on your inbox. In it you will find the username and password for your Gaijin account.

P.S. According to support your account dpa****@gmail.com is free to be linked.

I have the same problem. crossout is using my e-mail as my name . I changed everything I can think of, no use.

Doesnt work. Says "this email is already in use" and yes im using the exact email as you mention above.

Which is why I submitted a ticket to Gaijin in the first place.

Your Gaijin account was not linked to somebody else's Steam. Please, do not worry. In fact, it is not linked to any Steam at all. The error you received was a common error with standard notification.
You have a Gaijin account dpa****@gmail.com. When you decided to play the game via Steam, it was possible to link this Gaijin account to your Steam account. But it was possible to do so only upon first login.

Since you clicked "Sign in with Steam ID" option, a new account was created. You used the wrong button.

Now you have two accounts: Gaijin account dpa****@gmail.com and Steam account. These are two different accounts and they can not be linked anymore.

However, since your Steam account is not bound to any email yet, you can still link it to an email.

Unfortunately, email dpa****@gmail.com can not be used, because it is already registered in our database. You have your Gaijin account linked to it. Please, use any other email not registered in our database yet.

I hope now the issue will be solved.

I know this is a old post but, im pretty sure I have the same problem now. Why on earth would you have a gigantic "wrong button" to press on first login? Now there is some annoying long process to go through just to change a stupid nickname? That button should not even be an option unless your steam account is already linked, instead it just creates some random thing I cant change now without spending who knows how long contacting support.

klick your name and go to PROFILE
there you will see change nick name :)
