aah ye this soundes nice,, both of them ideas, i like that , and no ♥♥♥♥♥♥ players then still to be ♥♥♥♥♥♥ even with superior weaponry, but atm its a hard waste land out there with few choises, want to build something cool ? forget it , to high ps and low wepons aginst elite etc
same problem here, i didd grind alot , but it went to a stop not that meny levels in, but i still had fun until i went and said ♥♥♥♥ it i need that tank cannon :P some extra coins fell my way and i got some extra wepons also, but then it got a little stale sins i diddent have parts or armour etc to add to it, so im hoping for a fix to it not to far in the future :) maby itwill come wen the wipe comes i dont know , but i hope :) so its not a loss i still keep my stuff and i play some inbetween :)
I agree that the PS of certain weapons should be raised, however not all purple weapons are better than blues.
In fact, somebody had run the damage potential numbers, and it seems that for the ammo quantity and accuracy of the weapons, the Scorpion technically did more damage consistently than a Hurricane. I have seen Hurricane's in action (and used against me) and I have a Scorpion, and so far from my experience I would rather have the precision and and fast strike of a double rocket launcher at my current PS level.
Honestly, I have not gotten far enough into the game (I only have so much time to play... I'm on the forums a lot at work lol), but my understanding is that many of the weapons are balanced in this way, especially considering the ease of getting some of them.
Also, I hate to say it, but no matter how you look at it, paying players will progress faster and players that progress faster WILL have better equipment at all tiers... players will ALWAYS be able to go down a few tiers with better equipment, and the fact that you can use those equipment is a sign that is meant to be part of the game. Low-tier stuff is particularly fast to get past, but higher-level stuff takes a bit more grinding typically... if you can call it that in a fast-paced game with tons of explosions. <_<
If atm 80% of the opposition are veteran players, your odds of progressing to get good parts is slim to none.
Hopefully at Open Beta they add in more stuff you can craft at base engineer faction, with increasing scrap metal cost and probably a level requirement.
This is to bypass the issue of not getting item loots in any match because people are far too overequipped than you.
I mean it's possible to spend 300 scraps on a DIY crate to hopefully get a part that is not craftable by a engineer, but you mostly will get the same thing over and over again rather than other 'white' rarity stuff like minivan or the WT cabin.
Plus the amount of scrap metal to make one is a lot. Selling the scrap metal alone might give you enough cash to buy those white rarity goods.
I do think that the match making system may need some tweaks to make sure teams are not just based on PS, but individual player stats to help balance the 'quality' players per team, not just who is in a certain PS rating, however there will absolutely always be somebody better than you in any MMO. I would hardly say that I was ever completely useless in a match even with just basic gears up to roughly a 2.8K PS. I had no trouble farming multiple cannons or any piece of equipment up to my current PS level, even if I did not win 100% of the time. My tactics were to stay behind the "Pack" cars at a distance and use a 76mm to snipe, often 1-shotting other players. I have tried other builds with shotguns and machine guns, however the 76mm has been my favorite... then again, I always love the slow HUGE caliber tanks/guns in other games, so cannon sniping is nothing new to me... neither is using it at point-blank range if I have to. >:D
I don't know, maybe I'm just an old lobby-based MMO nerd that has been through the early "grind" enough times that it does not bother me. Whenever I see somebody with what seems to be an "OP" weapon, I just think "oh, cool! I'm getting one of those too! *evil laugh*".. then I get that weapon and learn that it's nowhere as good, and go with something else that works better for my play style. I tend to learn the most just by watching how other player builds perform and how those players use them to kill other players... then copy them if needed.
EDIT: I have about 10-12 hours in the game total up to this point... I did that over some vacation days about a week ago. I had a Gaijin key, so unfortunately Steam does not track my progress or when I last played. 10-12 hours to get to Rank 12 casually in an MMO, craft a Scorpion, and generally have a fun time in short matches is not horrible imho.
Basically, it seems to be 1-2 players that turns things around, and really stomp the whole team hard.
What could work is making all weapons require ammo, so even if they are all-powerful, they can't last forever spraying and killing everyone.
For instance making grenade launchers consume ammo would be a pretty big change and stop them from spraying them into the air to 'guess' where you are.
Giving them 40/60/80 rounds per turret would do.
Machine guns start at the hundreds of rounds, maybe even on a 'time' based ammo like 60 seconds worth of shooting. And ammo boxes should add to guns that now requires ammo.
By giving guns 'lesser' ammo and providing ammo boxes, you could split the main PS gain between 'low ammo powerful guns' and 'high ammo cheap guns'.
MM has been "buggy" since I bought in to this game in April. Which means, it's not bugged at all. It's working as intended.
Welcome to Gaijin gaming.
... and yet, I have yet to experience the MM throwing me into a match where I did not matter or where the numbers were outside the 1K PS range.
"... and yet," besides the point.
Really? Because that was the point... it seems you are stating different rules apply to you than to me when it comes to the MM. How convenient to brush-off other people's experiences when they don't prove your point.
Well this is a different game then their other titles when it comes to MM. all I can say is that it has made me move on. Not because it's to hard or unfair it's because it's not fun. It's not fun to q for a level 1 mission to get basic parts In order to upgrade and be utterly owned by orange missles. Even the bots have them. It just sucked the fun right out of it. Ya sure I guess I could buy a purple on the market and intentionally lower my PS with a crazy weapon to own the new players. But that also is not fun
For me. So to each their own. Check it out on next content update.
So you know I was agreeing with you criticizing the MM.
