Crossout blocked by Malwarebytes. Crossout sites down.

Whats happening?

Is everyone with malwarebytes having this problem? It was working fine last night.


Should i try unblock it or wait for gaijin to do something?

Could be a false positive, happens now and again. If you feel safe you could add the Crossout folder to your exception list.

Did you say the Crossout website was down? Seems to be working for me.

I checked with Malwarebytes - they say it's not a false positive:

"Domain is being blocked for Adware.AdLoad"

Had to add crossout.net, launcher and the server to exceptions list to get it working.

The minimum sites IP who you need to exclude are:

212.32.241.104
37.48.71.129

You will find these blocked along with others, but i have found you only need these two to play the game although others will still flash up while playing informing you of being blocked.

It's not a false positive, Russia has been using ads as a medium to push propaganda, so apparently Anti-virus software decided to block them.

I mean, if a 'threat' is a possibility of viruses being slipped into those ads, then obvious AV software is going to bite the bullet and block them just in case.

The biggest question though, which AV are you using, Malwarebyte is American, so maybe only specific AV software will get triggered by it, Windows Defender doesn't.

Malwarebytes is not an anti virus, it is an anti malware program, you still need an anti virus to be protected.

Viruses are a form of malware though.

Anti-virus refers to software that 'removes' viruses, anti-malware refers to software that blocks malware from infecting stuff on your system in the first place, and may have anti-virus capabilities.

It's the anti-cheat software, Dead By Daylight has the same issue. It's a problem with P2P connections and how it works overall; The anti-virus thinks the anti-cheat is trying to open a backdoor, when it's just communicating with other players.
