Pack advice
Been considering buying a pack, but I'm torn between two of them: the Arachnophobia and the Iron Shield

I am dead set on making my main machine using the Goliath tracks (look up the Driving Fortress in the exhibition, this is the kind of deign philosophy all about toughness that I am looking for, to be able to lead my team's attack and take damage for them), but would probably use legs as a secondary type of vehicle if I want to play differently, in which case everything in the arachnophobia pack should be kept, including the cabin which is where most of the pack's true value lies...

I may need advice on which one to keep. The way I see it:

Iron shield:
pros:
-has the tracks, saving me 2000 coins for pieces I really want
-More coins out of the box
cons:
-Apart from the Fat Boy, everything else is basically worthless, and that gun doesn't interest me so far

Arachnophobia:
pros:
-unlocks more access to pieces than the iron Shield pack
-far more potential coins if I sell the cabin and/or legs, allowing for more shiny things on my main tank
cons:
-will have to sell some of it to get just the guns and tracks I am looking for, and may come to regret that decision later

Any advice on which one? (please also explain your "why" if you suggest a specific pack)

This site might help you in terms of value: https://crossoutdb.com/packs . Other than that I can only say I would wait for some sale if you are patient enough.

Well. i guess better to waste money on icecream. When You want to get some thing in game except skins, You have to earn that. That also rise Your skill.
Goliaths turns on spine or side easily. And Your "fortress" turns to a turtle fit to r a p e. Legs is sturdy. VERY. but same slow. i advice 6 red hovers on 1 unit, or bigfoot wheels. Its fast.

I really wouldn't mind a grind.. except here, it's basically barring you from entire playstyles, and even worse, have to play the market, which has NEVER been my jam :p And with crafting requiring coins anyway... no way to avoid either trading for a profit for a long time or paying a lil.. and I got enough grindy games on my hand already, and would like to shave off a big chunk of the grind :p

All team hate donate noobs anyway. Nothing save Your caterpillar a s s from good player. Legs is good. But You must to dance as Michael Jackson all game to survive.

Everything is better than wheels to me... most notably being able to turn at a dead stop (which kinda kills the non-turret cannon on my current car). I don't mind giving up speed at all if it means far better agility and being able to aim "manually" more comfortably.

And it's not my first building game (played robocraft before, including a long time ago, before there was any way to heal up just like in Crossout, and ended up being the most terrifying player most of the time especially to long range players that were unable to cripple me before I closed the range even if all their shots where hits), so while I'm new to this game.. i'm not exactly a completely clueless newb either ;) Trust me, most of the people I face find themselves without machineguns on them in short order... and since I started meeting T.O.W. users, I'm starting to make hunting them my job. Also already had a broad look on most of the gear the games offers already, and to go further would require me to use them in battle anyway :p

And I don't plan on doing Seal Clubbing.. guess it will happen, but should be rather mild as I won't be an instakill machine, rather I will be a bullet sponge... and hopefully, the game will put me against an adequate opposition quickly :)

Spider pack. Much better cab. Most expensive cab in game by far. Then you can buy Goliaths with the coins. Legs are great as well.

The spider pack is the best one out of those two, it has a great cabin, the mech legs are good when used well and if I remember well it comes with a free engine that always comes in handly, but as said above, I would wait until summer sale when they probably will go on around 40-60% off... Never buy a pack at full price

If your main concern is the acquisition of Goliath tracks, then there's no argument against the Iron Shield pack. I've personally got the Arachnophobia pack specifically to get the Mechanical Legs and the cabin that perfectly suits them (even though they were considered inferior by meta at the time), and I got exactly what I wanted.

Legs are by far the most tanky chassis at the moment, and has the advantage of strafing over the tracks, but slower and doesnt offer as much coverage. If you're not precisely interested in using ML, then taking the pack which is entirely based on them is meaningless. Selling pack parts is out of equation - you're better off just buying coins then. Packs are best when they give you something your want specifically.

Doent seem true... Selling the spider cab and legs would give around 7000 coins in total, far more than buying just coins would offer, while also giving access to structure parts and unlocking access to more parts on my vehicle. Packs seem overall like way better deals than just buying coins, even if only to sell the unique/rare parts.

Guess i will follow advice on waiting for a sale, as i didnt knew there even was any ever.... And i guess spider it is. Bigger coin margin if i sell the stuff than the iron shield pack even if i have to buy the tracks, and the cabin isnt useful unless you want a relatively speedy spider as far as i can tell... And speed is a secondary thought to me compared to toughness and firepower XP

Still open to suggestions regardless ^^

Dont sell the Spydercab (if you buy the pack), its the best you can get............:lunar2019coolpig:

Good HP, Power and 12 EP, a very good allrounder.

But would it be worth it if its bonus goes to waste with tracks? Im eyeing more the Bastion or humpback cab for the role i intend to fill

Humpback is really big and Bastion big and special, like i said, Spyder is a good allrounder +1EP.....

I am in a comfortable position to be able to afford both, Bastion and Spyder but if i had to choose i take the spyder. I've sold the Humpback cause of the Spyder.

But its yours and if you love the Bastion get it............:lunar2019coolpig:

First of all, you might just get to like the Legs. In terms of roles, they occupy the same place as tracks. Once you get to use strafe, you might find it more important than speed, and otherwise two ML-200 legs are identical to one Goliath track.

The cab will bring the speed difference to almost nothing, and its a medium/heavy analogue to light/medium Quantum, in that it's perk isn't that important. It is the most expensive cabin in the game for a reason.

Also a thing to consider before you spend money on Crossout: There is massive amounts of people getting hacked and losing everything, and Gaijin is doing absolutely nothing about it. Both here and in the steam reviews there are people coming out almost daily. It's the main reason I stopped spending money on this game, and I am expecting to get hacked sooner or later.

It's a thing that you have to keep in mind when playing this game.
