improve steering? which tires have best grip
im working on a lightweight MG build and on straight flat surfaces it goes fast, but whenever i steer i almost spinout

i think you can find the basic "yolo mg" build in the exhibition if you want to look at it but the tail gets much heavier once i add fuel tanks in the back, i've been trying to work on a counterweight that doesn't lower my acceleration much (since its basically a glass cannon) but no luck on my own so far

Tire's grip define only by tire's tier. Common tires have the worst grip, epic tires - the best. But bigfoots cut engine power a lot (1/1.2 modifier per tire). As alternative you can try lunatic's light trucks. It have 1/1.15 modifier to power cut and limit speed to 90km/h, but it have best grip for light crafts.

As another alternative - take more practice with craft controlling with rare tires.

rn i have 2 studded wheels on the front and swapped them for racing wheels and the steering is somewhat better despite them being the same rarity, i know there is some hidden values that the game doesn't explictly state and i'd rather not waste coin testing every type of tire

also what lunatic light truck, they only have the growl

Maybe it your personal feeling of situation, but

Wheel grip rework
You can learn more about our plans in the special developer blog.

Now all wheels from a single rarity tier move equally great on hard surfaces, equally well on dense surfaces and get equally stuck in loose surfaces.
Grip with loose surfaces for wheels of basic and common rarities has been improved. Grip on hard and dense surfaces remained the same.
Grip with all surfaces for ‘rare’ wheels has been slightly improved with respect to the wheels of common rarity.
Grip with all surfaces for epic rarity wheels has been slightly improved with respect to the ‘rare’ wheels.
As part of the change, the center of mass for cabins is adjusted to reduce the likelihood of flipping of armored cars.

Also, you can test wheels due exebition.

I've used APC wheels on a light truck at about 2500 PS and noticed I can scale steep cliff edges when I am wondering around in Brawl mode when the standard medium tyres would not get me up. Also I very rarely have a front wheel come off on a head on collision.

Also, studded and race wheels has different mass and power consumption. It can make influence to craft controlling.

Different wheels have different traction on different surfaces for example moon wheels are good on dirt and sand but terrible elsewhere.
Chopper Jun 5, 2019 @ 2:37am
That had been changed. All the "rare" wheels have the same traction now. The only difference you will find is some are higher or wider. ie, Luna ST as middle wheels on a 6 wheels build will keep a build at better balance. For grips, there is no better than the bigfoot.

what about small tracks if i was okay with the 90km/h speed limit for less power draw (so i accelerate better)
