Twinks are going to ruin this game.
Twinks (experienced players bringing in upper end gear to low end matches) are going to ruin your game if you don't find a way to limit them. They come in, with one or two comparatively godly weapons, mounted mostly on a chassis and a set of wheels, and they kill newbies. Often they do it in groups too because, why show the slightest bit of shame? If they could add in hacks they'd do that too.

Of course they can be beat, with teamwork and skill (all things that newbies aren't particularly famous for).

The game has a lot of promise. I'm not sure what the solution is but I'll take a shot at it: Remove the ability to put purple weaponry on vehicles with a PS lower than 3500.

twinks? dude they're called seal clubbers ♥♥♥♥♥

where the ♥♥♥♥ do you get the phrase twinks?

Look up Wikipedia "Twinking". Here's the link if it is allowed: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twinking

It's been around as a gaming term for a LONG time. The idea is that some experienced sugar-daddy takes a newbie and totally sets him up so that he doesn't have to work to have it all. The only thing you might miss is: In gaming, the sugar-daddy and the twink are the same person.

Read that wikipedia page. It shows I'm not saying anything new or controversial. Competitive games HAVE to design around twinking or things tend to fall apart.

I don't know about you but twinking isn't that old of a term if hardly anyone here has heard about it and it sounds like a term coming from UK gamers as I've played online games for over a decade and seal clubbing has been what people have used for a long time.

I know its the correct term and all but something about that word just pi.sses me off, maybe its the german intonation? (I'm Swiss) I dunno but i don't like the word and the kind of gameplay coming with it.

Here in Crossout they are called Seal Clubbers..... or Pedobears apparently XD

Wiki show no refrences for the word earlier then 2004.
Real old hey? Haha.. Oh, damn that made me feel real old. :(

Just buggin' you, bud. The issue is real, have had a bunch of friends and clan mates leave the game due to low PS matches with high PS weapons on basicly cabins with no armor.
Only up side to this is that they are easy to pick off, but still hit very hard. :crossout_destroy:
Google image search "Twink" :steammocking:

That wiki references the word "twink" being used in MUDs in the 70's.

I'm sorry to hear about your friends and clan mates leaving the game due to this issue. I'm feeling on the edge about it myself, thus this thread. I really think the game has promise, but there are always 100 other games calling me if the developers don't understand or just don't care about the basics.

I know the game is in open beta, but you only get one first impression.

The connection between real life money and the marketplace via "gold" is the other significant threat I'm keeping my eye on.
Its a free game, everyone needs an income to live.
If one would need to pay USD $10-$150 to access the game, then IMHO it would be valid to complain about greed. This is not Electronic Arts.

I paid for the closed beta BTW and Im very happy about the multiplayer anti hack caretaking,
there is other games which take big bucks and which are unplayable due to players popping up in multiplayer, having obvious access to all content per hacks + aimbotting. EA has in the last 20 years always just been interested on a titles multiplayer launch day experience and how the graphics look.

This developer will also try to maximize the profit,
however...
Tip for a free experience:
Just play public PvP, things like the Season stuff will most likely get you to coin purchase weapons. Team up with other players or a clan if you constantly get blown up. Long live the grind ``

If you want to "Buy the game" and be part of it,
IMHO buy the Quantum Cabin pack and game frustration should end.

I'm not complaining about greed. I always make sure to spend some money in any free to play games that get a good amount of my time and interest. I think you misunderstood my comment.

It's a design issue again. There are other, much better ways to fund a game then allowing real life money on the auction house. Real life money being able to buy anything on an auction house isn't typically just bad, it's disastorous.

Again, it's open beta, so I'm watching their decisions and hoping they spot these things.

Best way to make your voice heard is on the official Crososut forums. :crossout_destroy:
@ the.celt
Your opinion is respected, there is a lot of competing games on the market.

@ ~Ormagodon~
Whats the voice about ? That its possible to spend real life money on this game ?
Or that beginners get easily killed by players who have spent learning time and coins on the game ? IMHO I have stepped back from even downloading certain game titles which have free game access. I still enjoy this game, but I hope there will be some new PvP playable game content in nearby time or an extension to 16 vs 16 players in PvP.
What currently keeps me playing is the little clan community I have founded with "Russian" and that I can hop in to my setup vehicle gear and have PvP fun. Will boot up World of Warships later and go to my ship garage, some dust has settled there during the year. Need to recheck on Star Citizen in 2 years time @.@ This new ant sim game seems to be really cool too.

Please bring some light on what your voice is :)

You can tell who is young by them associating the word twink with homosexuality in a gaming forum, twinking has been in gaming for a very long time.

Same kinda thing like smurfing but a little different. You purposfully make a lower character as strong as possible for its tier.

Call a seal clubber a twink. They wont like it cause they think your calling them gay. Lel.
Just a general comment on the entire thread...
Welcome everyone, to the non-game related fun ride !
Lets elaborate the meaning of words :steammocking:
