A question about names

A friend and me downloaded the game through Steam and used the "sign in through Steam" option. While his name remained the same in-game as on Steam, the game added "42496" at the end of my name, and I was wondering why, or if there was a way to remove these numbers from it.

If I recall correctly this can be done by opening the store page (the Gaijin store) while in-game, and then going to profile>nick change.

Keep in mind there's a limit to the amount of times you can do this for free.

Oh well actually it seems that my actual name is already used by... me. I have a name conflict with my Gaijin account. I should've logged in with it.

I guess if I loggin with my account now, I will have to start from the begining again ?

You'll need to wait for the Steam release. My personal opinion is that it won't be too long until we get it, but they haven't released anything offiical just yet.

Those who purchased into the Closed Beta Testing through Steam still have access to their Steam Crossout launcher, but it has been temporarily disabled for all other users due to early concerns regarding server overload. They have since increased the amount of servers and should be opening it up again soon.

But again they have not mentioned anything official regarding the Steam release date besides it being sometime during Q2 (which is coming to close), so it's all speculation at this point.

I can't think of any other reason besides the loophole which has since been fixed.
