Please Fix Sim Speed
When are you going to fix the sim speed, game starts to slow down dramatically as more and more units are built and/or when the planet is large or there are multiple decent-sized planets when playing against only AI.
Not everyone plays multiplayer and the sim speed is an issue with or without the local server option enabled.
For what it's worth, I love the gameplay but I have a customized gaming pc and my connection is at 28Mbps download speed at the moment but can go up to 80Mbps when no one else in my house is online. There is literally no excuse.
It has been years since release, literally. You hired on the best AI modder from the supreme commander series as your AI programmer so don't blame it on the AI slowing the game down, that man is very efficient and my quad-core proccessor has no issue running other games with no population cap. I play Total War Warhammer 1 and 2 with tens of thousands of individual units running accross the screen and have no issues so you cannot blame my PC either.
I just want to be able to play this game by myself with a ton of AI on a massive map just like I do in other strategy and RTS games.

I posted this here in response to the update you released since I saw there still hasn't been any improvement to sim speed after all this time and I still can't enjoy this game like I really should be able to.

I have so much fun at the beginning of my games, I love the complexity of it all, the rush, the long wars for strategic dominance of the planet or the whole system but by the time things start getting really good and both myself and AI have become well-established on the map with sizable forces to strike each other with, things start moving at such a slow pace that I'm waiting whole minutes for a single unit to produce or 10 minutes for a small force to just get across the map a little to strike the enemy down. It is rediculous.

I don't normally post long threads like this or put this much effort into complaining but damn, I really just wanna play this game, like REALLY play it. I don't do one on ones with the AI or play multiplayer very often, I love massive scale, which this game was designed to do as well as advertizes. I just want to do just that, have a massive ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ war that lasts all day long with several AI contenders in struggle for either control or survival, that's what gets me going.

The slow sim speed crushes all enjoyment of the game to a depressing and sad halt. I would really like it if this game relied more on my actual hardware than a server or an artificial local-server. I'm just itching to slaughter the AI across a game so large and complex, you can technically call it a campaign.

Time dilation (slowing sim speed) is not something that can be fixed.

At some point unit hoarding will overwhelm the CPU running your server causing time dilation in the sim.

The AI also uses significantly more CPU then a real player.

Next generation CPUs will help significantly with multi-threaded local servers. ie AMD threadripper, Intel i9, etc.

What are your specs?

So you can't just put a damn Cap on the speed and let your computer cop it, even if I'm playing offline!?

If playing offline, make sure you have multi-threading enabled.

Review the information at mikeyh's link above to see if there is anything you can adjust in your game setup

also check out these to posts to see where the game is headed.

I have a ryzen 9 with 32 Go ram and galactic wars are unplayable due to slow down.

Ryzen 9 but what model? I'm not very familiar with AMD hardware but there were several generations of Ryzen 9 CPUs.

Go to the game settings and make sure that local server is enabled and that the local server multithreading is enabled too. Quit all programs that are using the CPU.

Oh, and try this: start the game, alt tab out of the game, open Task Manager, find server.exe, and set its task priority to High. Don't do Real Time though, that may have adverse effects.
