I like it.

This is a sort of complex strategy game, I would prefer you try a free-to-play strategy game if you don't want to spend the $5 for the sale.

It's good. It's easy on hard and below, the enemy will rarely attack you so you won't have much trouble learning the game. If you go above hard you need to know how it all works or you'll be eaten. I would deffinately get it for the $5 it is now.

Idk, i love RTS games, The orignal TA was amazing. This one I don't like. The planets being 3D and you having to spin them around looks cool in the video spotlight. Is not cool at all the in the gameplay. Leads to too much confusion and not knowing where any of your units are. Very confusing

The guy has never played an RTS game - spewing out few letters of a game's title will probably not ring the guy any bells. Might even not know it's letters from a game title... it's like trying say something important to some1 who's deaf. It won't work.

I wouldn't say this game is complex. Rather it's the map control that's on a whole new level compared to all other RTS games and strategy games in general. Everything else is balanced just so it's not too comlex nor it is too easy.

There's also no traditional story-based singleplayer campaign. More like a sci-fi one instead.

Try Command and Conquer: Red alert 3

Amazing RTS game, pretty easy to grasp and great campaign (with some cleavage) haha

What types of games do you like to play?

Watch some YouTube videos see if you think you would like the gameplay.

If you do get the game make sure to play the tutorial to learn the ui with things like area command's. Playing on a sphere can take some getting used to but once you do it makes it hard to hi back to flat maps.

This is a great rts game but i really can't reccomend it if you aren't familiar with the genre.
Especially the worlds (round maps) can be very confusing to new players. also because this game has also naval air orbital nukes nuke defence interplanetary and so on...
The wide array of weapons makes this a very hard game for newcomers to rts...
i suggest try supreme commander forged alliance or total annihalation since they look most to this game.

Save the cash-grabbing maneuver they did to resell the same game to their old customers if they wanted to keep receiving updates, yes, it is a great RTS game BUT....

- If this is the first time you are playing a RTS, the scale of the battles and micromanagement is huge, so the learning curve is very step

- Overall, save the ability to fight in several planets at the same time, the game is not really innovative

- As other users mentioned, getting used to a round map can be a bit confusing at first

Another old school alternative to this game is Star Wars Empire at War, featuring both space and ground combat

But if you just want a futuristic setting, you can play Command & Conquer 3 (don't bother buying the fourth) and particulary, C&C Tiberian Sun (one of the best RTS in my youth)

A good first RTS is Starcraft 2. They get you up to speed on the story of the first game if you're worried about that, and the campaigns are designed to become harder as you go and introduce new mechanics and units as you progress.

Edit: Just want to point out it's not on Steam though.

There are many fairly good RTS games out there. Sir Prometus is right, that micromanaging here could be a little overwhelming for a first-time player, and fighting accross multiple "planets" can quickly become confusing if you're not accustomed to how RTS's work.

I personally would reccomend a game like Dawn of War: Soulstorm or Age of Empires III's complete collection for a good first time. They both use clear, communicative aesthetics and fairly well represent some of the major lines of thinking in modern RTS's, at an early age.

Good luck on your RTS journey! :skyelaugh:
