Not able to use PS4 controller?

The game info said that it had full controller support.. but that doesn't seem to be the case. Anyone know how to get my PS4 controller to work with this game?

Also, WHY is it so slow? I'm on like Windows 8.1... Which should meet the requirements.. I did what someone mentioned and turned the HUD thing off, and set the speed dash to auto... but that only made it a tiny bit faster.

I may not have paid much for this... but I'd still like to enjoy it, if possible...
