if you want to be able to get to high (past 3k) waves consistently you'll have better chances by following overpowered farmers' advice with the aid of a script, thus farming 2-4k TC per hour or even more... though diminishing returns apply to the total TC bonus too, so at some point those 2-4k TC per hour will account for nothing
if you only want to get to high waves and call it a good time, at some point you'll have to stop farming (i'd say anytime past 3M time cubes is a good time) and start a long run, stacking as many dimensional shifts as you can and just go with it... dimen.shift doesn't suffer from diminishing returns, safe bet
both will take a lot of time anyway
though i've been playing since mid august, took me about two months to get 4.3M time cubes, then started a long run on october the 15th, and now after another month and 116 dimensional shifts (at 8% each) i'm at wave 3600+ and will likely hit 4000 within a week or two thanks to spec ops 6 (training 6 was a ♥♥♥♥♥ though, had second thoughts about the long run)
