MyGM Players Injured all the time
So this has reached a boiling point now. For the past 5 games i had at least 1 player injured and sometimes because they shoot a 3, land on their feet and become injured. What the hell is happening?

At first i thought it was maybe because of the training intensity, so i put it on low and all the players are fresh without no fatigue. The team got 2 days to recover.

So the next game i shoot a fadeaway with Brandon Ingram and guess what? He lands on his feet and gets injured... 6th ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game in a row a player is injured for no reason.

Someone please help?

P.S

There are many other annoying bugs in this game...

The way the injuries work is based on previous injuries and wear and tear during games and throughout the season. When your in game, there's a sub tab that says "players health" and in there it will show the current wear and tear for the game. Wear and tear can happen from taking hard fouls and just being on the court for a long period of time. I've noticed at around the 25 minute mark people start showing up in the wear and tear. You can look at individual player's bodies and see the level of this injury risk from none, increased, and high. So if you see a player on the wear and tear list and look at his body and notice he has a dark red ankle... there's a strong possibility he could get an ankle injury during a shot or a foul. Personally, I think it needs to be toned down a bit. It's a great concept and players get banged up all the time in the NBA, but i've seen 2-3 players go down almost every single game. Anyways, I hope that helps

It's also worth noting that i've seen 2-3 players go down every game even with durability cranked up to 100 for both cpu and user... and still seeing all these injuries every game. Out of the 10-12 games i've yet to see a player not go down with an injury. I think they based their mechanics on the idea of people playing 6 minute quarters with no concept of those who like to play 10-12 minute quarters. I've kept my starting lineup playing 30 minutes or less a game and still haven't been able to avoid the injury plague

I have the same problems. I play 12mins per quarter and in every game 2-3 players (min. 1 in every team) are getting injured.
Now i have 6 injured players. 4 of 6 Guards are injured (incl. all PGs). That is just insane.
The first 3 guys that got injured in my team were Benchplayers with only 3-5 min overall played in the game.
My starting lineup is always playing only 26min as a maximum. They are not pushed to the limits.

Next game will be funny, when my PFs have to play some minutes as SG...

I have had enough and started a new MyGM with Injuries off. I guess 2K is just retarded as ♥♥♥♥ and this is the only way to fix that problem...

It's really a shame because they wanted to make injuries more realistic this year, but it's quite the opposite. every team has players that get injuried or sick and miss games, but having multiple people out for 2-4 months after 3-4 games in the start of the season when they're averaging less than 28 minutes a game and medium training is a bit unrealistic. I could see maybe a player missing a week with twisted ankles happening once every 10-12 games... but the injury frequency right now appears to be broken

I play 6 minutes, and have had 4 injuries total over 1 1/2 seasons.. Probably right about the injuries being more common on 12 minutes... just by virtue of you playing longer and having the guys out there for longer...

Well I think some of the issues are people playing realistic quarter lengths with unrealistic injury frequencies. However, I've been doing quite a bit of testing and I thought I would share some of my results with those who are also having issues avoiding injuries. It seems as though anytime your player takes an off-balanced shot and/or a defender in his face, he risks being injured quite easily. If he doesn't get injured, he usually ends up with "wear and tear" that contributes to increased risk of injuries. Also, one of the things I would do is usually back down defenders in the low post with my stronger post players which often led them to landing on one foot on hook shots or they got fouled... and in turn, led to "wear and tear" on the feet, thighs, hips, and/or ankles.

Now on to potential solutions. The one thing I wanted to do was run plays for my teams almost every possession to get more open looks because I do play with my shot sliders at around 30-40. I noticed the more plays you run with the focus on getting your players wide open shots, the less likely your players will end up with "wear and tear". Which I know it theory, sounds pretty self-explanatory, but I wouldn't have assumed it would make such a signficant difference. I also stopped backing down players in the post as much and only relied on that technique when I didn't have enough time on the shot clock to run a play. Instead, I would run more low post plays and pick and rolls. I've played 3 games on 12 minute quarters and in 2 games i've ended up with no players banged up and 1 game with "wear and tear" on 2 players which I can recall from getting lazy one quarter and not running as many plays. Previously I would have approx... 6-10 players showing up with wear and tear by the end of the game. I've also been playing my starters at around 30-34 minutes as well. In the past, at around the 18-20 minute mark they would start to get banged up. So i suggest to those having issues to setup your playbooks that fit your roster skill set and start running plays. I think it's worth noting that I do have my fatigue set at 44 and durability set at 100 for both the CPU and myself. just avoid taking shots that may have your players land in awkward positions because otherwise your always rolling a dice on an injury......or at the very least it will add on to the 'wear and tear", which just makes that dice roll even higher on them getting injured the next time they land awkwardly. I hope this helps and best of luck!

On a side note, I still think the injury frequency needs to be toned down a bit. But that's just my personal opinion.
