Best Archetype/Position Combination?
I have a dilemma about the best archetype/position combination? PG or SG? and Playmaker or Sharpshooter?

It depends on how you want to play. I've always loved playmaker pg because I enjoy making plays, assists.

PG, playmaker.

It depends on what you're looking for in the player, but the popular choice for PGs is most likely Playmaker. Shot creator is also another option if you're not going for threes, but at the end of the day it's all down to what you feel is right for you.

Once the game drops, there's a pretty easy way to "test" if the build is going to work. I'll let Shake take care of the details.

I played the SG/Shot Creator in the Prelude and it feels alot like playing with Frobe (FYI The Kobe Bryant from the late 90's with the Afro), you can dunk, knockdown some contested 3's, fade, shoot off a dribble....so if you want to play fast in the backcourt position choose this

For me, I'm probably going to pick being a Shot Creating SG, because it has the Best Badges and it's Kobe's game. The NBA is packed with Amazing Point Guards and for me it's more realistic to get on a team and slowly surpass somebody like quincy pondexter, or Jordan Clarkson, or Eric Bledsoe (if were forced to be on the suns based on the trailer) Im usually a Point Guard every year of 2k but this year i want to make a Kobe Like My Player and add to the withdrawl of great shooting guards. But thats just my opinion:D

No, you not get forced to be a suns player, you get drafted and the suns had a pick this year so its possible, I for one hope to be the next Kobe on the Lakers....

What do you think about small forward? What archetype?

If the A.I. coach for once actually uses your player right I would go with a Point Forward. You get all the good stuff that comes with being a SF, size, athleticism, banging in the paint, grabbing boards, running the break plus you get to actually handle the ball and set up your team mates and make the game instead of being forced on the wing and having to wait for your PG to get his finger out of his arse.

I don't know about the coach A.I. in mycareer this year but it hasn't worked properly over the last installments, so I doubt it will this year. If that is the case a point forward, a fairly unorthodox built, is probably the worst thing you can do or any weird combinations so to speak since the A.I. won't use your player to its strengths.

Going for a center as always, not sure between glass cleaner or paint protector :2016popsicle:

It's a pretty stupid distinction tbh. I mean usually the Centers who are good rebounders are good defensive centers as well and the other way round so I don't know what the point of having that distinction is and why we need archetypes and not just get to develope our player like we want to.

When you want to be PG. Make him 6'3" below and less weight for added speed. You can't slash tho so make him a sharpshooter and dimer.

If SG, make him 6'6" to 6'7" and medium weight. Your choice of a shot creator or inside shooter.

I cant choose between SF and PG, i love to watch Lebron in action but when iam going to PG i will have more ball handling, more points assist etc. What archetype could be Michael Jordan?
hedop Sep 11, 2016 @ 10:50am
Score only SG :D Jordan mainly played to get his. If you are talking Jordan from his Rookie year until about 1994 you are talking score only Shooting Guard with high defensive ratings. Later he started to be a decent facilitator as well but before that you are talking about a guy averaging 30+ points while taking around 30 shots per game.

Thanks!Ye SG could be good but i liitle afraid about ball handling :)

No idea how the A.I. coach is this time around. If they have implemented him decently and he takes into account your style of play you might be good playing point forward. That should give you the best of both worlds. On a team with a decent point guard however most of the plays called for a shooting guard will be isolation or catch and shoot situations, maybe some pick and rolls but that is rare too.
