My Career Organizational Role and Morale
I'm first going to provide the correspondence I've had with 2K's absolutely useless support regarding the question I'm now going to submit to you all here.

My initial question to 2K Support:
"I'm in my second season in MyCareer mode. I am thoroughly enjoying it. However, there is a metric that I do not understand. Each player's "card" contains a page that describes their "organizational role." My player, despite being the reigning league MVP with a lucrative, multi-year contract who's currently averaging a triple-double and leading the league in four statistical categories, is listed as "on the block." By comparison, Justice Young, the annoying plot-device symbiotically tied to my player, was shipped off to San Antonio, where he is listed as a "superstar." Our accomplishments are incomparable. I'm wrecking the league and he's a role-player. Something is wrong with this picture. I've surmised that this must be tied to player morale. My player is always "heated," despite being a leader on a conference-leading team. I seem to have no control over this. I'm writing support in hopes of having the metrics explained to me. I want to know how to affect change on these variables. I want to know how to appease my player and see myself listed as a "superstar," whose importance to the franchise is accurately reflected in his card. Any help?"

2K's reply:
"Hey there David, Thank you for contacting 2K Support. I understand that it can be frustrating trying to uncover certain aspects of a game, like how or if you can remain locked to a single player during games. However, we at 2K Support believe that giving out gameplay information removes some of the fun from discovering it on your own. The only advice we can offer you at this time, is to carefully peruse all option menus in the game and see if there is anything that may help you out with "Character Selection Lock". But still, if you would like some advice I would recommend heading to the 2K forums where our online community can assist. It is incredibly active and filled with tons of players seeking answers to the same questions you are. If you have any additional questions or issues please let me know. See you on the court!"

My follow-up:
"Man, sometimes it really doesn't seem like you guys actually read the contents of these support request tickets. I did not ask about "character selection lock." That wouldn't even make sense, given that my question pertains to MyCareer mode, in which you are required to remain locked to your player. I asked about organizational role. I'm not asking about some setting that I can modify on a menu. I'm asking about a mechanic that is obviously controlled under the hood, over which I possess no control. In MyCareer mode, on every single player's "card" (shown when you depress the right analog stick with said player selected in "player stats") there is a page that details the player's salary - disbursed over however many seasons - and, among other things, their "organizational role." My player's role is "on the block." A select few other players, such as Justice Young, are listed as "superstar." I want to know how this metric works and how it is changed. I would like to know how the game determines each player's role, so I can endeavor to change mine. Please bother to read through these words, rather than sending some pasted reply to an unrelated issue. I would greatly appreciate it."

They followed-up one more time with the same crap only apologizing for referencing the wrong thing. They're utterly hopeless. They shouldn't even bother to have a "support" team, when they're effectively withotu function.

So, since they've decided to be utterly useless, I'm wondering if you anyone on here knows how to influence these variables? "On the block" role and "heated" morale, despite constant, league-leading success, etc.?

Thanks!

Yeah, I've been stuck at heated... I wonder if it's based on the decisions you make in the game... like sticking up for Justice when he's on the block but it seems like you didn't gaf and let him get traded. odd

I have wondered the same thing for a long time. But it just never seems to change. I was heated my entire first year playing alongside Justice, but I couldn't stand the semi-symbiotic relationship with him that's forced onto the player, so I left for my second year. Now, on separate teams (he's in San Antonio, and I'm in Brooklyn), his organizational role is "superstar" and I'm "on the block," even though he's barely giving them 12 points and 8 assists per game and I'm dominating the league on the theam with the best record in the conference. It just doesn't make any sense. I think it's bugged. There's no way to change it.

I know this is very late but I have the "Superstar" role on my contract when I asked to be traded to the Raptors on my 2nd year. I was traded with Justice and he got the same role on his contract. I think it just depends on your overall stats and relationship with your teammates, I always praise my teammates in my interviews, if given the chance and whatever aside from posting ridiculous stats game after game.

My gripe though is the tag they have on each players when you check on their names on the League Leader boards it's like the archetype tag, like Kyrie has "Offensive Superstar", Andre Drummond has "Two-way Star", somehow they got Kevin Durant to only have "Scoring Machine" despite his contract saying Superstar too. But my issue is that Justice is a tagged as an "All-around Superstar" and they have me tagged as "Playmaker" despite all of my stats being better than him all around. That's the one I don't get how it works. If it reflects what you do in the court then it should be all-around superstar for me as well, coz not only do I average 40+ points a game, I get 15+ assists, over 10 steals, and 8+ rebounds, I actually average a triple double, and have gotten multiple quadruple doubles. If that's not "All-around Superstar" material, then what is? LOL
