Yep. I can.
Every FPS game. The PC version added keyboard and mouse controls, which weren't in the console versions because they didn't have the hardware to support it it... Just like PS4/XBone don't have the hardware to support custom music.
They have to specifically code keyboard & mouse controls into games, so this is definitely a feature they ADD to a PC version that isn't available in the console versions.
As for games from 2K... Well, I'll be honest: I don't play any other games from 2K that I know of. They make mostly sports titles, and I don't play those.
Here's another thing: The console versions of WWE 2K16 didn't support resolutions up to 2715x1527. The PC version does. They clearly added that. The console versions didn't support 8x AntiAliasing. The PC version does. They clearly added that. The console versions didn't support 60 fps. The PC version does. They clearly added that. The list goes on and on, too. The console versions didn't have anywhere near the graphical options that the PC version does, and it's obvious they developed a separate graphics engine for PC to support all these features.
So why in the blue hell can't they add a simple thing like letting us select a folder full of MP3 files to be played in Create-An-Entrance mode?!
While I do like the game (though I hate the submission mini-game), I'm going to seriously reconsider ever buying a 2K game again if they don't add custom music next year, or patch this year's to allow it. I'm buying this on the PC to AVOID the console limitations. Making us have to suck up the same limitations in Create modes as the consoles have because of console hardware/software issues just flat-out sucks.
I'm okay with that. There's actually a lot of music in that game I wouldn't miss (the generic entrance themes, entrance themes for most of the lower-card guys, and about 2/3 of the licensed songs).
For someone that's not concerned about preserving any of the original themes (generic / superstars / whatever else), it sounds like there's easily at least 100 potential themes to replace with the mod tools? In other words, if I were to use all 100 CAW slots i'd be able to have 100 different themes?
I'm totally new to the modding aspect of these games - is that possible / has that been done before?
Yes, 2k14 you can. I don't think you can in 2k15, but that game sucks MAJOR, total bomb from its reviews which is why I never bought it. 2k14 had its problems but CAW had more items and SLIDERS, morphing sucks in 2k16. And of course 2k14 had custom music, CUSTOM MUSIC is god and I hate their terribly small selection of unused themes. I don't want to replace themes because that will ruin the immersive entrances of the stock wrestlers. Custom music, that would help me to deal with the lack-luster features and the inability to make you own custom title matches in universe, WHAT THE HELL were those idiots at 2k thinking when they shat this out? 2k, you are a corporation, PANDER dammit PANDER! Its what we pay you for!
On a weird note, Finn Balor Demon entrance in one of NXT arenas has lead to two crashes, that is the only crash so far. weird.
