INK
30 FPS
Hey devs, could you update this game soon so it can run at 60FPS? It shouldn't be difficult with a game that uses as few resources as INK. I ask because that 30 FPS of Bright colors is murder for eyes on a black background. I like this game alot but a twitchy platformer like this needs 60 FPS, much like Super Meat Boy.

Hey!

Adding 60fps isn't as easy as changing a single variable. All the physics work differently if you double the framerate and it is not linear, so it's not like you can just update all variables by multiplying them by 2. We know how to update it, but we feel that it will alienate a ton of people that have lower end PCs.

I want to add 60FPS as a toggle in the Options Menu, but that will be added after we release our Mac and Linux versions.

Thanks for your patience!

Awesome, thanks for the quick response, can't wait for the day!

Sounds great, I too would love to see this. Take your time however to liberate them physics. I think Mac and Linux versions sound like a good priority at this stage.

Sooo...is that still happening? Please?

There is no options menu yet right?

Also, will there ever be a higher resolution version? I guess with all the pretty colors and smooth gameplay I wasn't exspecint such jaggedy edges.

Otherwise it's pretty fun! (and very hard fo rme, lol)

The game is still a pixel art game Luke, hence the jagged edges. It is an aesthetic choice and it will always stay the same, at least for this version. Maybe we will consider a higher resolution for future installements :)

No I don't own the game. 30fps? No thank you.

We have been slow on the updates because we are working hard on our next project, Fara & The Eye of Darkness (You can check it out here.). We have been really busy since we are going to be presenting at GDC in a few weeks, but I'll do my best to keep up with INK updates.

Cheers!

He asked if it was still happening. You posted that 6 months ago.
When, roughly, are you releasing the game on Mac and Linux?

Are your new games going to be capped at 30 fps too?

IMO you're probably alienating people who don't want games capped at 30fps.
This isn't exactly a high end game, either.

You were obviously lying about the fps toggle.

Done here and unsubbing.

I'd love 60 fps, but i know how it can be game-changing. And even if it isn't graphically impegnative it might still drop fps on some bad PCs. Well, keep up with the hard work^^

The control lags at 30 fps and the motion isn't smooth. When will the game get a 60 fps option?|
Archer-Dante Nov 29, 2016 @ 10:18am
game like this must have damn 60 fps. it's looks so colorful and juicy. the visual idea just can't be told properly by this limitation
and i think it's awful to desing game for 30 fps from start. much better to make 60 and THEN choose a method to limit it for any purpose.

for know.. such gem game has total corrupted feelings, while playing damn slideshow for game that desinged to look smooth :sarah2:

If you are going to take the time then please also consider a 120fps patch

And don't ever make the mistake again of bounding physics to framerate
isolated1 Aug 20, 2017 @ 11:13pm
did Mac and Linux versions happen so we can finally play at 60 fps or higher? The game is sitting in my library unplayed until I can play at a decent framerate. I can't believe games are still coming out in 2016 and 2017 with the framerate limited to 30.
Penndragoon Aug 24, 2017 @ 6:12pm
I asked them this question 2 years ago. It's apparent they don't know how to make this happen or don't want to take the time to fix it and have moved onto their next project. I expect a re-released version in 5-7 years when they've made enough games to bundle them all together.
