I don't drop items when I die.
My friends and I don't drop anything when we die, is this normal or is there a way to configure this?

You only drop souls when you die. There is currently no option to change this.

Keep in mind that there are some places that do not persist. If you exit them, they are gone. That would mean all dropped items are gone too after death.
