Monster Catching

this is what i can capture from what i can tell, zombies, slimes, reptys. how ever when trying to capture monster such as a creep i cannot, i stood there chucking the soul gem at the creep who had 2hp i threw it at him 150 times and nothing, also dosent work on crawlers and butchers. are you supposed to make more powerfull soul gems? in the adv crft table there is 2 sections under the soul gem which i assume to be better gems, but they are blacked out and i cant tell what is needed.

also, the quest to capture one would not finish even after i had captured 3 monsters, it only finished AFTER i captured a spirit

213 times thrown at hell dog and butcher, did not capture either one, both were at 2hp

threw soul gem at lava golem 113 times didnt capture.

Yeah its kinda stupid the way it is now.. I went through the whole game out even getting a pet... There was no point to it and it was not fun trying to get one.... It should take no more then 25 tries to get one... Can you just imagine sitting there doing that over 200 times and still not get nothen? Nothen in the game is like that.. Also pet lvls are so damn slow... I can go from basic to top tier gear and my pet is still at lvl 5...

the pet taming deffo needs to be balanced way too hard to capture higher level enemies no matter how low their hp is.

ok so i found a way to catch bigger badder monsters like i said in the 1st post there seems to be 2 blacked out sections below the soul gem, well you have to FIND the better ones, i just found one in a Meat room DEEP underground about 45 degrees south of the dongeon which is directly below the crystal in my world

You need different rarity soul gems to capture more powerfull monsters.
You can craft them with different level of amethysts.
It's also possible to find them in rare chests.

I've seen an orb with the sorcerer mini boss in the dungeon and was wondering if they are capture blend via soul gems or if they require something else. I didn't feel like starting a new thread since I thought it might fit here best. Thanks in advance.

You have only lvl 1 gem :D you need level 5 for butcher and lvl 7 for lava golem

You made a mistake twice, this is the level 3 and it is possible to catch a golem (version 0.5.8) ;)

Okay.... I think lvl 4 soul gem is bugged used it like 50+ times and didn't capture
