Thanks for the heads up Manoloon and sorry it took this long to respond. This is fine. It's a false positive by a heuristics routine. Can I ask if your antivirus is updated? it would be pretty bad if everyone got a warning. The reason it is popping up now is because the latest update isn't just a game update but an engine update to version 4.10.1
yes! I have AVG free edition updated. No problem man , I want it to advise you I know how trouble is if everyone gets that false positive.
I can confirm that I also had this problem while AVG Free, which is up to date. Are you sure none of the update files were infected before distributing the update? Obviously, I wouldn't be happy if my PC was infected or my privacy was compromised from an automatic game update...

Yes, I ran a scan on the project folder. I may roll back the update though for the simple fact that everyone with avg will get a virus warning.
keep on people... this looks very promising!
I just updated AVG completely and it still hits with a false positive on the file CatInterstellar.exe in CatInterstellar\Binaries\Win32. You might want to contact AVG and sort out the false positive with them ;)

I think you're right Goatie. I'm going to roll back the update until I get this fixed. I've scanned the project folder with 2 different anti viruses on two different computer without a problem. Can I ask what operating system you all are using?
I'm using Windows 10 Home (64 bit)
I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit all up to date.
For the record, Avast! Free AV does not flag this as a virus.

Yeah, it's specific to avg. What a bummer. Submitted the file for approval through them but I can't imagine they'll get back to me anytime soon and even when they do I'll have to wait until they update their definitions. I'm going to try to fix it on the unreal engine side. It's only 4.10 that does this.
thats because AVG its more serious AV software than AVAST , and I tell this because I work everyday with AV software and AVAST its a joke.
The problem here is with euristhic , maybe its something in the new engine that try to get into something that might looks like a virus..
I'd have to argue with you about AVG and Avast. In particular, AVG interferes with Windows APIs even when it's nominally disabled. Also, the CPU load from AVG, and the network load, are simply incredible. (They may have fixed this, but their web site prescan put a horrible load on the network connection as they tried to scan every web page you might link to...) If you want serious AV, though, I think you're probably looking at Kaspersky... interestingly, Kaspersky has found most of the recent exploits reported in the wild, Avast has been reported as finding at least one. AVG's researchers? ... crickets ...
yeap.. there I am with you chazz.. the web prescan sucks! but well this is not about av .
