ABXY Buttons Move Umihara AND Perform Actions

Yo.

I'm having this really frustrating issue with this game where apparently my X button makes her go left and use the rod, B makes her go left and jump at the same time, and A makes her crouch.

These buttons should really be only doing one thing and not BOTH.

The buttons move AND perform the actions they're supposed to simultaneously, which really puts a wrench in how smoothly it goes gameplay-wise.

Would set up a JoyToKey, but the game was already programmed for controller support but so far that seems to be working like utter ♥♥♥♥♥, so it'd probably still do that even if I did.

I tried seeing if I could remove the buttons from the controller window, but that did about just about nothing to help this issue. It still keeps doing it.

I've managed to switch to the L+R bumpers instead and haven't had this problem, so that's comparatively better. Still, would rather use the usual A & B/X & Square setup if I happen to have a choice. Sucks, but I guess I gotta take what I can get at this rate...

I was wondering if anyone else happened to run into this problem and hopefully knew a fix for it.
