8 players multiplayer campaign would be ideal for Shogun 2's small map. It's a game made for such a multiplayer experience with friends and with randoms given that the maps are small and the campaigns are short compared to newer Total War titles.

Imagine a 4vs4 imperial vs rebel or 4vs4 sengoku jidai. Even 4vs4 RoTS game.
