Some Ideas to Improve the Game
Greetings =)
First i have to say i really love the Game, waited since the Alpha for it.
Maybe because im also a Painter its alot of Fun for me to play it.
But after 4 Hours of playing i saw that the Game gets a bit repetitive.
A bit too fast and too much i think.

So there came a few Ideas up which i like to share,i dont know if you work on the Game further, but some Improvements couldnt be wrong i guess.

- An Clear End: The Game should have an Option to End the Time of your Guild.
Maybe with an Timeline showing up that shows what happened due the Years
the Guild existed, stuff like Death of Painters,Created Masterpieces etc.

- Make Painters more Important: If a Painter dies,it doesnt matter much,or the Things he
archieved due his Life doesnt matter,i would like to have a bit
more Depth here.
(Something like Graves would be maybe an Idea to have
something that reminds you of your losses)

- More Furnitures and Things to Customize: Speaks for itself i guess =)
There isnt much worth to buy,and i dont wanna fill
every 2nd Room with the same Things.

- Maybe a few More Events: Speaks also for itself.

I also would like to see a Day/Night Circle in that Game, not sure if its Possible, but well would be a nice addition.

The Game has alot of Good Ideas, but also alot of unused Room left that can be Improved.

Anyway, best wishes and Gratz to the Steam Release, hope it was a Good Day for you =)

Later stages definitely need more content. After a few play throughs, when I hit the 16th century it was common to have three completely empty rooms and six fairly young masters who spent most of their time standing around waiting for a slow trickle of customers.

Yes agree,i played now about 6 Hours, and have to say best of the Game is the beginning.
Just an idea (I haven't actually got the game) dev could introduce the concept of paintings value going up after an artist has died. Thus you need to be able to paint and keep for posperity some pieces of work or maybe buy some back before artist's death.

Close shop sign perhaps to improve pacing a bit? And of course, more content, particularly background info about the paintings! Even just things to read would extend the playtime in my mind.

A tooltip before you sell an item of how much you're going to get would be nice (as opposed to finding out after, or figuring out half of the current value). I might not have sold my first guy's masterpiece had I known it would have only given me 200 instead of the 400 I thought I was going to get!

Some sort of hover tooltip would also be nice for seeing the rank as well, at the start it's not immediately obvious the frame around the person's portrait denotes the fact your first guy is a journeyman and the next after is only an apprentice, etc. Was wondering why my first guy never went for his trip round Italy!

Thanks for your feedback. We are taking everything into consideration for the next update.

The guild-manager could have a mansion, organize vernissage's and/or visit auctions, keep a collection which counts to the highscore and might need to travel a lot; perhaps delegating customer management and other stuff to his workers/artists while away/abroad.

Id like to see another option like the "painting a masterpeiece" that an artist can create off his own back (not for a specific customer) and sell to make more money.

Another thing i forgot is Church Commissions should give atleast some Prestige,i think they are really senseless atm,its better to do Paintings than working for the church.

oooh the option to do some skulduggery, kill off a painter to raise the price of his paintings.

set the game in new countries or periods (but remaining historically accurate)

I so look forward to the update, this game is just a few features away from being freaking awesome. My idea (correct me if I'm missing something): what about the events in the world affecting the gameplay more? You get notifications about the death of a pope and such but I didn't notice if that changed the course of the game in any way. Perhaps this does happen but it's really rare?

Also the Masterpieces of Dead Painters should be more valuable i think.
But if you sell them they also give you the same Money as due the Time they are alive.
But seems really quiet atm here, did the Devs post somewhere some news which i just didnt see?

Maybe paintings could have names and be viewable as gallery exhibits? Would be fun to have a follow-on game about managing an arthouse/auctioneer dealing in paintings created by artists in original game ... basically it's a cool game concept with great visuals & music. Maybe take it some place further?

I think two things it could really do with are:

1: A little icon on your artists portrait to show they are working on their masterpiece so you don't accidentally send them off to work on a church painting.

2: The opportunity to sell of some of your furniture or masterpiece paintings to raise funds for doctors, bail, legal defence.
