Need Help Running Hordelicious

Okay, so I've just installed the game and really like the look of it. But when I try to open it, the steam dialogue (for opening a game) flashes, Steam says that the game is running, but then nothing happens and Steam changes to say that the game is not running... Anyone experienced an issue similar and be able to help?

PC Specs:
Windows 8.1, 64-Bit, 8GB RAM, i7 Intel Core...

I really can't see any reason that it shouldn't load...?

Did you too just recently buy the game? A patch or update may have brocken it for us... I hope that the devs are able to fix it.

Btw, I've run Task Manager when I open Hordelicious, and it shows "Hordelicious (32 bit)" and something that says, "Windows Problem Reporting (32 bit)". Both appear for about 1 second and then disapear.

Okay, I've found a solution, although I do not perticularly like it... When you try running Hordelicious at any time with Steam running... It crashes. Close Steam fully, and run the game and it opens just fine. I think there may be an issue with how the devs are handling Steamworks, so I hope that they can fix this issue ASAP.

Anyway, for anyone having the issue, fully close Steam then open it from the directory.

I have this issue to and wanted to add to the discussion after testing out some things.

I tried renaming the file 'steam_api.dll' to something else and was able to then launcher the game through Steam. So it looks like it is a Steamworks handling issue.

Though because of that, I highly doubt steam features will work.

Steam Overlay should still work (as it isn't actually from the Steam API). But I doubt achievements and statistics will work, as these are. Anyway, until the devs fix the issue, we'll have to live with that.

No worries!

1. Right-click the game in your Steam library and go to Properties.
2. In the new window, go to the Local files tab and click the button labeled 'Browse local files...'.
3. In the folder that opens you should see a file 'steam_api.dll'. Rename it to anything else, such as 'steam_apiBROKEN.dll', but it can be anything.

I figured that too. I tried dying in-game for the first achievement just in case, but to no avail. Hopefully there is a fix soon.

Also steam can count hours too.

where do i get my pennies back for this piece of ♥♥♥♥ game that wont even run on my pc. i have 32 gig corsair dominator ram an 8 core 5.0 ghz processor windows 7 and when i open this game it says it has stopped working immediatly and will not run......idc if its 80 cents or w.e. it was on sale for im not paying a single ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pennie for something i can now play......horse ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥ no wonder why its on sale to scam us out of our pennies tool bags.....
