Asks for CD key

When launching the game from Steam it comes to a screen asking for the cd key. There does not appear to be a key included with the Steam release, and validating the files does not help either.

Is this a common issue, and is there a workaround?

One of those old games that you need to run Steam as Administrator to get it to work. Close Steam, then right click on Steam icon (program) and select "Run as Administrator". Once Steam loads, then select Sacrifice from Library and run it. Should skip CD Key request and go to Menu. Good luck.

Steam might also just not inform you about CD key. In some games I got CD keys to type (and never used them because they never wanted them). You can try this thing with administrator. If that won't work, go search the Internet for some CD key. You would be at least able to play singleplayer. Not sure how it would work with multiplayer though.

Thank you for the tip! Choosing "Run as Administrator" when launching Steam solves the problem.
