What's strange is when I bought the game a year or so ago off Steam the game did work properly, at least after toying with the compatability settings. I tried reinstalling, updated my video card driver, tested several compatability settings, and now the steps suggested from the previous poster, but none of these change the outcome.
The game is an old favorite of mine, so this really blows.
Is their no steam side fix to make this work?
The good news is the GoG version of the game works fine, so at least I can play again. Steam's will appear to launch and show the opening screen, but crashes shortly after when the main menu should be popping up. It's too bad there doesn't appear to be a better solution for those w/o NVIDIA cards.
Given I have a Radeon card, the Nvidia help doesn't apply to me, regretfully.
