Sacrifice

RTX Remix?
Does anyone know if this game will work with RTX Remix? RTX Remix needs dx8 or dx9 and the game has to have a fixed function pipline (no idea what that means).

If this DOES support RTX Remix I might try modding the game for enhanced textures and ray tracing if possible. Imagine all of these spells being ray traced!!!!

Imagine this game finally getting the respect it deserves.

Cool! yeah saw a nvidia video on youtube about the Remix function for older games..
"Video card (GPU) 8 MB of VRAM, DirectX 7.0a compatible" is the minimum require gpu power and direct X compatible gpu required to run Sacrifice apparently..

Nvidia's marketing blah with 'gamers' is strong, but cannot create unicorns, just because the guy in the leather jacket says so.

Not with this game. Too specific. Too cryptic codebase.

A 'fixed function pipeline' is fancy words for 'ideal written code'.

The kind of PC video game code that was written in an ideal world of modern day SDKs and well defined design patterns and API calls. (No 'dirty C++ hacks' allowed).

Code from the 1999s was ALL about 'hacking' and 'dirty code'. The rendering pipeline had to be often (re-)written three-four times (software mode, (newly) DirectX and for Glide ... or even OpenGL).

The fact that these old games even run on today's machines is next to a miracle (or rather due to Win backward-compatibility and wrappers).
