'Bathes' vs. 'Baths'
I think this is a typo. Am I right?

EDIT - CONTEXT: "He definately did not look like he baths too much"

Depends on the context. Bathes is a verb, Baths is a noun.

Right, but in the context in the game, I think it should be bathes. Am I right?

What is the sentence in game?

Someone is bathing.

Or if you for some strange reason don't want to include "is" then you can use for example.

Someone bathes (right now.)

Bathing is correct. No typo there.

It's not meant to be grammatically correct so much as resemble the way people use the English langauge. It's dialogue--not your term paper.

Are the witness people speaking or writing? Anyways I am just trying to help iron out typos. Don't be bity.
Katch Aug 18, 2015 @ 9:56am
I assumed they were speaking. What's "bity?"

"Someone is bathing." - That is correct grammar.

"He definitely did not look like he baths too much" - That is incorrect.

It very much depends on which tense and how it is used.

My god you are really stepping around my question and answer. The second 'incorrect' one is the one in the game. So we agree. I am simply pointing out a typo. No big deal, really.

I'm not stepping around anything, you were confusing at first. Just saying Baths vs. Bathes doesn't give an example of anything. You can't correct a typo without the exact wording. Yes, I agree with you, that is a typo, but your original example was not.

A while ago I edited the OP. Now it is not confusing.

I assumed it was the dialogue of someone not using proper grammar rather than an actual typo. That seems more in keeping with the mood and context of the game.
