Hey there!
Could you post a screenshot of where you see this secret achievement? I've heard about it and would like to look into it :)
On the other hand, buying a new system in order to get one hidden achievement is a bit, well, expensive. It would be cool if all achievements could be achievable by using an average system.
One should also consider that the critical voices concerning cpucores are presumably people who own a high-end system and therefore don't really feel the difference (meaning they are not the (primary) target audience). But that's just my perspective
Yeah, I don't have a high end system, myself. CPU Cores lets me play The Witcher 3 on my i5 2500k with no drops below 60 fps on the settings I want. It will be very interesting to me if I notice any differences when I get a new computer in the next few years and try CPU Cores on it.
That said, I'm not sure if my next CPU will have 10 cores! That's a LOT of cores. Then again, I like to tinker, and I'll probably use the dedicated cores function of CPU Cores to get more fps even with a CPU with a ton of cores, since games don't utilize more than a few cores at most, for the most part.
That's enough derailing OP's thread for me! Take care.
