This version or GOG?
Really want to get this game but i see some comments here saying the steam version is missing the music? I don't mind having to download extra files/patches but which is the more straightforward experience?

Imo it doesn't really matter, the music that the steam version is missing gets pretty intrusive so you'll likely turn it off in the gog version anyway and in both versions music plays from in game radios so you won't be missing out on much. If you want to play either on modern hardware grab the MH patch, it'll give you a lot of visual options and let you play online but won't change anything major: https://download.kingpin.info/index.php?dir=kingpin/patches/unofficial/mh%27s_kingpin_patch/

Also be aware that KP is very different to something like doom or duke; too many people get the game thinking they'll be able to mash everyones face in as soon as they spawn but at the beginning of the game you'll want to avoid fighting as often as possible. Talk to NPC's and find out where you need to go and who'll do what for you and make sure you buy the magnum mod ASAP.

PS: close the distance between enemies during gunfights, bullet spread with the pistol / shottie / tommy can be pretty wild at long range so you'll want to make sure thugs catch all your shots

I bought the game right now as well cause I couldn't wait for the Reloaded version any more :D Can't wait to play again after so many years. Will buy Reloaded as well when it finally comes out.

gog all the way, even if the game itself doesnt differ much, steam is still a drm platform and i dont agree with that
