Acquiring power armor
Since Wiki states that its locked behind the Rank of Paladin, doesnt that make high-CHA builds have more validity ?

No. CHA is either a dump stat, or you want 8 for Divine Favor. I would say play a 10 PE 10 AG small guns sniper for a first playthru. It is a combat focused game not a grand RPG like 1 and 2. CHA break points are 4, 8, 12 and can be achieved with drugs. Equally important to note, completing mission objectives and bonus objectives will effect rank as well. So the way the game actually handles things, you will get power armor around the same time regardless of CHA, or maybe 1 mission behind normal in a worst case scenario. Power Armor is late late game. A drug called Voodoo can be farmed and is huge game changer in this game.

Also make sure to enable the Springfield mission before starting a campaign. Enjoy.
