Yeah, I checked there as well before posting. It is strange really as you could play god mode in both fallout 1 and 2 and in nearly every other Isometric games like the Baldurs Gate series. Fallout Tactics is the first game I actually needed it. Ironic.
Had hope that mods or something could help me, but I guess not. Most mods are unfinished.
if youre not smar enough to make your own cheats, you dont DESERVE to be allowed to cheat.
Very stupid, it doesnt work. Its logic of dead pinguin.
Back when i last played this game, there WERE built in cheats. I can't quite remember how it worked, but you either had to run the game, find the game's process in the memory, using some software like Magic Trainer Creator, Cheat Engine or ArtMoney, search the memory for, or drectly writ to the adress, OR open the BOS.exe file in any HEX editor, and change the value fromm 00 to 01 on the adress of 89CFA0 and this would enable the developer's mode or something, that would allow you to turn on and off God Mode by pressing Ctrl+G, teleport the selected squad members to any point on the map, marked with left mouse button click after pressing Ctrl+W, instantly exit the current mission and teleport all ofyour squad members to the WorldMap by pressing Ctrl+Z or take control over any unit, present in the current mission (including enemy units and even unique and non-humanoid units) by pressing Ctrl+A and clicking on them.
I loved to use those cheats to have fun, like, "hijacking" some robot, or mutant animal, or even the game's boss and try and play the game through as them, since i've also played the game through numerous times and got a bit bored with standard gameplay, and i had no access to the Internet and mods back then.
The problem is, i can't remember what exactly had to be done to activate this developer's mode, or it doesn't work on the current patch, or the Steam version of the game... Maybe anyone knows the solution?
By now i know how to play as any character you want, and get whatever items you want in any quantities without cheats, using only FT Tools editor, which comes with the game, or by editing the game files, but i still need the teleportation cheat from that developer's mode, to skip the tight places that i can't get through, if i try to play as a non-humanoid or a very large character, like a radscorpion, loadlifterrobot, tanktrackrobot, pacification robotor the Behemoth, which can't
fit in alot of tight places (the first one is the barbed wire lines in the beginning of the first mission) or use the ladders, or i have to edit all the maps in the Campaign so they would become suitable for the selected character, and this is totally not an option, so, maybe someone knows how to enable that developer's mode on the current Steam version of the game?
Thank you for the reply. I remember god mode and stuff like that on Baldurs Gate as was also created by Black Isle so I knew there had to be a similar trick to FT. Anyway I will try your solution next time I want to play through it, but if what you say is true then it does not work on the Steam version. Luckily I do have the original game on 4 different CD in my home. So it might work on those, unless Windows 10 has some issues.
I abandoned this game for a year or two after the post as I did not want to play through the raider maps. Just way to boring.
Though recently (a few weeks ago) I played it once again and the funny part is at just before the first Beastlord map (Quincy?) I found out I had made the wrong character pick as my Charisma was not high enough to get Clarise. So I restarted the game and went though all the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ raider maps AGAIN. So boring those maps. Still worth it in the end. If I can use a godmode the first 4 maps and manage to fix the broken map random encounters, I might play it again sometime.
Secondly, i'm still searching for the solution around the the Russian part of the Fallout community, and i also have old 2 CD unlicensed Russian version by 7Wolf, and a 3 (or is it 4? I forgot, since i've only bought it for the collection, and never actually played it) licensed Russian version by 1C (1S). (as far as i remember, the only 3 CD version i know was unlicensed Russian version by Fargus)
But, by now i recall that possibly, that option was discontinued, when the 1.27 patch came out (or what was before it?) and the cheats only worked in the older unlicensed versions (i might be wrong, though) i'll probably search for those old CDs and check if this works on them, and what game versions they have on them.
As for yourproblem - there are few quite easy soluions/ First, you might use some memory editing tools, like the ones i've mentioned above, and hack the number of Stimpacksyou have with those programs, use them to pass tehRaiders missions, then throw excessive Stimpacks away and continue playing normally, OR, you can edit the first map in the campaign using FT Tools, to add any amount of any extra items (stimpacks, Advanced Pwoer Armor, any kind of weapons, etc.) oreven add another super-duper powerful superhero to your squad, who will wipe the raiders from the first missions for you, to hep you skip the first levels, and then dismiss him at the Barracks. Both ways won't help in my situation, but shouldbe pretty useful for you. You can even friend me and PM me later ifyou'll need some help with all that - i'll try to help if i'll be available at the moment.
How about if you aren't smart enough to write a sentence without a major typing mistake in your feel-good-wanna-be-I-am-smarter-than-you pun that makes you look like an ass and an idiot, don't post a public comment.
