Recommending him to play high stakes (which he likely doesnt have chips for anyway) is pointless because bad beats happen at every stake.
NOT REAL POKER
BOTS
NO REAL RANDOM
DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUH
Exactly, but at low stake you have more fishes and more you have fishes more you risk a bad beat.
In fact, at low / medium stakes, for good bankroll management, you have to 20/30 buy ins min in reserve (30/40 for high stakes). If you have a bad rush and lose several buy ins, don't hesitate to play at a lower limit while you recover (mainly don't increase the stake to try to compensate your losses).
Poker is a game of profitability in the medium / long term, I know sometime it's difficult but, you must be patient. The important isn't how much you win/lose during one session but how much you win/lose at the end of the month/year.
I don't know your play level but, technically, try to work your position in play, the odds and the equity (you have a lot of articles on this subject on the internet). And especially observe your opponents playing style well before taking too much risk.
Good luck... cheers...
- in cash games, if you aren't feeling well at a table, change tables.
- if a player as a good rush, don't obstinate. Wait, his rush will necessarily stop at some point
You need to vary your bets so asn't to be too predictable. You must also adapt your bets according to the pot (1/3, 1/2, 3/4, etc), your hand, the board, the context and especially not overplay your hands too frequently.
You need also try to understand the view that other players may have on you at the table. For example, if you lost the previous move on a bluff players will believe less in your bets. So, unless you have a bomb in hand, you need calm down (or vice versa).
Good luck... cheers...
I just reached past level 50 and i still get heaters from time to time. Sometimes you have a couple of dead sessions, maybe some coolers like getting your house beaten by quads, but heaters will come back to rake in huge pots.
I've seen new players get some super good hands, but eventually i'd get a better hand and manage to bust them because they feel invincible and think they can't lose a pot.
Exactly, in poker patience is essential.
Good luck.. cheers..
