Why is doing story mode a requirement to leveling up?

No one wants to play poker against bots.
Poker is a peoples game played with cards as they say.
Why can't I just level up from playing multiplayer?

The game would be vastly better had the levels not been tied to the story mode.

We should make a poll to see if the majority would rather play against bots or real players.
If you actually look at people's levels, most of them are level 10, that might say something.

Besides, this game is in beta, the Devs want feedback, not people just succumbing to the current game. I'm not forcing them to change the game, its just advice.

I saw your point, seeing most players are level 10,
perhaps due to the current Bug of the underground being stucked in a middle of a round,
the dev have explained it the coupier who might be causing it and working on resolving it.
Many, including myself had faced the stucked bug,
somehow my preseverance paid off, and I managed to overcome the Stucked bug.

But i do believe some like myself doesnt really find it a bother.

If you are really so into poker, what does a lvl 1 and a lvl 50 on a table differs,
The levels are 'superficial' nonetheless.

you're right, levels are useless, thats why I didn't bother getting past lvl 10.
BUT, it does feel nice having a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ handgun or a crack pipe on the table when you all in.

Prominence Poker is aimed at every skill level, so we have to account for players who don't know what a flush is, or how to bet, fold, or call. It also introduces the Affiliation system, which is where players can earn exclusive aesthetic items that you can't buy simply by leveling.

why do i need a internet connection to play offline with bots?

Because without a connection to our servers, you won't retain any earned Rep and your chips won't be saved to your bankroll. That will make it harder to buy table items and outfits, not to mention fewer chips means it's harder to join higher stakes multiplayer tables.

what about the players that already know how to play? I know players aren't granted cosmetics simplying by leveling, thats how it should be. As of now, they cost chips to obtain. Chips and LEVELS, and the only way to get past lvl 10 is to play "underground" which was intended to help NEW players learn, according to you.

Basically, as of now, if I want to get cosmetics, I'd have to invest time in beating AI in underground. I'm positive the majority of players would rather just level up while playing against REAL players, as least, the players that aren't new to poker.

Let me clear up some confusion.

First, you are granted certain cosmetic items by leveling. Gaining ranks with each affiliation awards you exclusive items that you can't purchase otherwise.

Second, you don't have to play Underground to progress past level 10. Level 10 is just the cap for Rep before you join an Affiliation. However, your level is *not* capped if you're playing multiplayer, so if you'd rather not play AI characters, try to play against real people in a Ring Game.

Fortunately, you earn more chips in multiplayer too.

I'm currently level 10, and I stopped gaining rep in multiplayer, is this a bug then?

Not necessarily. You have to join an affiliation first, and then you can continue earning Rep past level 10. Once you're in the affiliation, you can ignore singleplayer mode (unless you want to earn Rep in another affiliation to unlock its exclusive items).

I believe I understood that before I made this thread. I'm just stating, in my opinion, the need to play and beat the bots to get into their affiliation is something most players wouldn't want to do, if they want to get past lvl 10.

I do not care if you play the AI or not, I just wish you would stop complaining about not having access to the bonusses availale to those who have beaten them because you don't want to play the bots.

It is very simple: If you don't want to play them: don't play them, and don't get any of the rewards that everyone else is getting after beating them and joining an affiliation.

You are doing very well on the leaderboards, I checked, If that's all you care about, I'm cool with that. Everyone is entitled to play the way they want to play.

Note to devs: Might I suggest that you add in a purchasable affiliation, you could charge maybe a couple of dollars for people like EYYO here. to bypass playing the bots perhaps? It might be a good optional thing to have

just because some players beat the AIs because they wanted cosmetics, doesn't mean its a good feature to have in the game. They probably didn't have the energy to go on the forums and complain.

The devs would make more $$$ if they just sold the cosmetics without level requirements, because as of now, the level requirements are making players think twice about investing real money into this game.

Anyways, I'll end it here, just remember, it's just advice.

actually, the devs are masterminds, it was all part of their plan to force players, who want to buy cosmetics, to play boring AI games.

Hell, i'll fork over 2 bucks JUST to skip the AI games.

while we're at it, give players a microtransaction option to skip the mayor battle too, maybe 25 cents.
